15lb higher than his sole handicap win (1m7½f, soft), but backed that up in novice event over C&D in April. Step back in right direction latest. Each-way claims.
Rattled up a hat-trick in October, all on good/good to firm. Held from this mark last time, so more needed, especially on this softer ground.
Won this on soft ground when 10lb lower last year. Has improved since, but not been good enough to win again from this sort of mark. Each-way player.
Ran up a hat-trick in the spring at around 2m, inc. on soft. Should be better for her reappearance and could be a contender if she can bounce back to her best.
Began well for this trainer with wins at Hexham (soft) and then here over C&D (good). Beaten 13L last time, after a 5lb rise to this mark, so needs to step up again and 7lb claimer could help with that.
Dual C&D winner in autumn 2017, as part of a hat-trick across both disciplines. Hit and miss since then, but returned from a break with a positive effort here and with a good claimer up, enters calculations.
Goes well on soft and stays 2m4f. Ran well over C&D last time when around 9L third. 1lb lower, so more needed, but not ruled out of the frame.
Has so far been unable to transfer his Flat ability to this code and looks up against it on these terms based on recent hurdles efforts.
On a nine-race losing run since scoring at Wetherby (2m, good to soft), when 6lb lower, in March 2017. Has matched that or bettered it on five occasions without winning again. More needed. Blinkers now tried.
1lb higher than when last winning, which was here over C&D (heavy) in February. Hard to fancy on what we have seen since, but hard to write him off now back down the handicap.
Not performing as well as he was in 2017, but couldn't rule him out of the frame based on his last visit here two starts ago.
1-74 under both codes. Inconsistent, but another who is not out of the prize money based on his best recent efforts.
Forecasts
Barrys Jack (15/8), Take A Break (5/1), Suggestion (6/1), Kelpies Myth (8/1), Wazowski (10/1), Pistol (14/1), Green Zone (16/1), Xpo Universel (20/1), Monfass (20/1), Iolani (22/1), Felix Mendelssohn (28/1), Morning With Ivan (66/1)
Plenty of exposed runners here and the two that make most appeal are Take A Break, who needs to find a bit more, and BARRYS JACK, who goes well here and could benefit from the presence of his good 7lb claimer. Wazowski is another on the short-list, with Kelpies Myth and Monfass others to consider.
- Barrys Jack
- Take A Break
- Wazowski
