Two-time C&D winner, back to back successes around this time last year for previous yard. Operating from his higher AW mark now though and probably vulnerable for win purposes here.

Shaped with some promise in bumpers and ran well in a maiden here in April 2017. Came on for his seasonal reappearance when winning in impressive fashion at Bath and not ruled out with the switch back to this surface a potential positive.

Vivernus15
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-4| J: A Mullen| T: Adrian Nicholls| OR:  72| D
7/2
Dirt winner in Meydan (later disqualified for banned substance) but consistent on that surface and has been running well on AW so far this winter. Likely has one in him off this mark and could improve for the switch to Fibresand.

On a long losing run since 2016 and yet to win for this yard but has shaped well on occasions and not discounted on Fibresand debut given his breeding; interesting contender.

Age: 6|  Weight: 9-4| J: J Fanning| T: J Candlish| OR:  72| CD
4/1
Five-time course winner who has been slowly warming to his task so far this winter. Step back up in trip sure to suit and has place claims.

Bomberop28
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-1| J: Callum Shepherd| T: E De Giles| OR:  69| D

Two wins from 15 starts but yet to score on turf and his efforts so far this winter have been well below par. Still above his last winning mark and a switch to this surface not certain to suit.

10/1
Just one win from 34 starts but that came over C&D and he's finally back below his last winning mark. Needs to improve on his effort here last time and has each-way claims if capable of doing so.

Essenaitch50
Age: 5|  Weight: 8-13| J: Rossa Ryan| T: P D Evans| OR:  67| C
20/1
Two-time course winner who has been below form in six starts since winning at Chepstow in June. Back on a fair mark as a result and a return to this course is in his favour, though yet to win over this far.

Scrafton36
Age: 7|  Weight: 8-11| J: Joey Haynes| T: A W Carroll| OR:  65| C
40/1
Won on debut for this yard but hasn't built on that in either sphere since. Has a course win to his name but probably a shade vulnerable from this mark on this surface.

Landscape22
Age: 10|  Weight: 8-10| J: Mark Crehan(7)| T: M Appleby| OR:  64| D
25/1
This will be his first outing on the Flat since 2011 when trained in France and hasn't managed to win over hurdles since 2012. Hard to fancy on all known form.

Forecasts

Amitie Waltz (11/4), Vivernus (7/2), Star Ascending (4/1), Purple Rock (8/1), Restive (8/1), Epitaph (10/1), Bombero (20/1), Essenaitch (20/1), Landscape (25/1), Scrafton (40/1)

Verdict

VIVERNUS was useful enough on dirt when trained in the UAE to think he can have a say at this level if taking to Fibresand and he's been in fair form since joining this yard earlier in the year. Amitie Waltz won't mind a return to Fibresand while similar can be said for the two-time course winner Essenaitch.
