Son of Australia; cost $100,000 as a yearling; started 25/1 on debut at Haydock in August (1m), finishing a heavily eased last of six to Beatboxer (John Gosden).
27,000gns juvenile from a 1m4f AW winning dam; beaten just under 6L by Dazzling Dan when finishing third on recent Doncaster debut (6f, soft).
Ultra competitive on debut at Newmarket (7f, soft) when finishing third to stablemate Battle For Glory; dam a 1m Group 1 winner; leading contender for a trainer who saddled decisive winner Daarik here on Wednesday.
Half-brother to the useful 1m performers Melesina and White Mocha; gelded since his last racecourse appearance; most unlikely based upon the level of form show so far.
Second foal out of a 7f-1m2f winning dam (incl on Fibresand); trainer saddled a winning newcomer here on Wednesday with Heath Charnock.
£30,000 yearling; ran well on debut at Newbury (7f, good to soft) when finishing 6L fourth of 14 to Politicise; nowhere near as strong next time at York (1m) and makes the AW switch for his third career start.
Half-brother to three winners including stablemates Table Manners (7f-1m) and Nonagon (1m2f/1m3f); not of interest in a race of this nature.
€62,000 foal, 325,000gns yearling; sixth foal; half-brother to four winners including Akatea (1m-1m1f+) and Abilene (1m3f); trainer 4-23 (17%) at this track; market helpful, of interest if speaking positively.
25,000gns yearling; much improved effort on his second start, finishing just under 2L third to Island Glen in a 7f novice auction here three weeks ago; further progress necessary.
Started 25/1 on debut over 6f here in October, finishing last of 12 to Jack Berry House; seemingly holds little realistic chance unless a subsequent gelding operation has a massively positive effect.
Half-sister to three winners including the 1m scorer Expert Answer; soon weakened in soft ground at Doncaster (6f) on her second racecourse start.
First foal of the Listed middle-distance scorer Between Us (a half-sister to French Oaks winner Confidential Lady); started 25/1 on debut, but beaten less than 1L by Duneflower (John Gosden) in a C&D fillies' novice.
Forecasts
Fightwithme (4/9), Top Power (5/1), Scheme (8/1), Bataar (10/1), Tucson (14/1), Mardle (40/1), Littlebitofmagic (40/1), Lethal Laura (80/1), Amber Rock (80/1), Somewhat Sisyphean (125/1), Tuscarora Deep (150/1), Jimmy Krankyar (200/1)
A couple of the runners have shown signs of promise at this track already, namely Scheme and Tucson but the standout horse is the John Gosden-trained FIGHTWITHME. Although unable to justify favouritism on debut at Newmarket, this colt showed up very well behind his stablemate Battle For Glory. Gosden has a decent line with a number of tonight's rivals (through his other horses) and saddled yet another winner at this track on Wednesday in the shape of the impressive Daarik. Therefore, unless the mildly interesting newcomer Top Power is out of the ordinary, another Tyneside JHMG winner is likely.
- Fightwithme
- Top Power
