Showed ability in a pair of bumper's and off the mark on debut over hurdles at Perth in June. Below best on return from a break at Wetherby recently, but not beaten up and should do better with promising claimer booked.
Opened account over hurdles at Uttoxeter in July, then improved when second on handicap bow at Warwick. Disappointing at Worcester last time, but may do better back over traditional hurdles.
Winning point-to-pointer who showed ability in three qualifying runs over hurdles, and ran well when fourth on handicap debut at Wetherby early this month. Needs more to defy current mark, though.
Fair sort over hurdles in the past but has failed to complete in his last two starts and showed nothing after a break (pulled up) when last seen at the end of last year. Still 10lb above his last winning mark and on balance he's best watched.
Not won in eight starts since leaving Nicky Henderson and has been thrashed in three runs this season, offering little encouragement in the process.
Qualifies for handicaps having been placed on both starts in novice hurdles. Bare form is nothing special, but handicapper not severe with her opening mark, and she is unexposed.
Best effort over hurdles when third at Huntingdon in March, but handed a stiff mark on balance, and well held in a couple of handicaps either side of a summer break.
Beaten just over 6L when finishing fifth of 14 to The Groovy Hoovy at Southwell on penultinmate start, and excuses for poor run last time when finishing lame. Blinkers tried now, and market helpful.
Southwell handicap hurdle winner for Mark Walford in April, but he's not really fired since, and no sign of a revival for new yard at Market Rasen on latest start.
Slow to make his mark, but improved for step up to 2m7f at Hexham last time, staying on for fourth. Should have more to come, and longer trip looks in his favour.
Ran poorly at Perth on last outing before a break, and needed early reminders at Hexham last time, when a moderate fifth of 16. Not one to trust on that evidence.
Forecasts
Dory (3/1), The Tangler Barry (10/3), Dubh Des Champs (5/1), Roses Poses (7/1), Scottshill (8/1), Bomber's Moon (10/1), Border Victor (14/1), Roo Roo (16/1), Bentons Lad (40/1), Minstrel Royal (40/1), Grand Enterprise (50/1)
DUBH DES CHAMPS is unexposed granted a test of stamina, and hinted at better when keeping on late at Hexham last time. He is given the nod over the unexposed Roses Poses, with Dory also considered back over traditional hurdles having looked ill-at-ease over brush obstacles at Worcester.
