Not at his best on his last two starts, nor is this his ideal trip on what we have seen, so arrives with a bit to prove.
Very nicely treated on his early 2017 form, but has not been able to win since, despite recent reductions in his mark. Nonetheless, he stays well and has frame claims here.
Has improved for this trainer in the past year or so and won again last time at Kelso (heavy), when 2lb lower, over hurdles. Scope for some more now back over fences and 3m, and looks a leading contender.
2lb higher than when scoring at Perth (3m, soft) in April, for Iain Jardine. Well below that level on first run for this trainer at Carlisle recently, but step back up in trip positive and not written off.
Heavy ground winner here over 3m3f in February 2017, when 3lb higher. Seen only twice since, and pulled up on return from 19-month absence last time. Bit to prove.
Placed in all five rules starts, without winning one. Made promising chase debut from this mark at Hexham recently. Could improve for that, and will need to, but no denying he has place claims again.
Improving chaser who has completed a hat-trick on his first three starts for this trainer. Up 7lb for the last of those at Fakenham (2m5f, good), which he did readily. May have more to come over 3m. Claims.
Has shown himself to be very competitive from this sort of mark, though has not been easy to win with. Has had a wind op since last seen in April and can go well when fresh, so not ruled out.
Scored at Catterick (3m1f, heavy) in January, when 3lb lower. Well held on both subsequent starts, so resumes after a break with a bit to prove.
Won from 10lb higher over hurdles in 2016, and was beaten just 2L from this mark over fences at Hexham in June. Well beaten here last month, before a heavy fall last time, so has a bit to prove now.
11lb higher than when scoring over 3m2f (heavy) at Carlisle in April. Can go well when fresh and couldn't rule out a competitive return from this mark. Has won on good to soft.
Forecasts
Geronimo (5/2), Beau Sancy (5/2), Mac N Cheese (7/1), Carrigdhoun (12/1), Buffalo Ballet (12/1), Kilbree Chief (12/1), Rainy City (16/1), Onderun (16/1), Angus Milan (20/1), Imperial Prince (22/1), So Satisfied (25/1)
The consistent Geronimo is open to bit of improvement over fences and could have a say here, while Buffalo Ballet is another who could go well without quite being good enough to win. Rainy City and Carrigdhoun are not ruled out, but the outcome could rest between Mac N Cheese and the improving BEAU SANCY, and the latter is just preferred.
- Beau Sancy
- Mac N Cheese
- Geronimo
