One of only two in the field who have experienced this surface before and it's fair to say she has shown better form since that start although she remains a maiden. 5f looked too sharp last time out and a return to 6f would be of benefit.

The winner of a Bath novice in the summer on quick ground over 5f he now returns to action on a new surface after a wind op. Has proved a disappointment in his two handicaps starts so far but the recent op may coax him back to form.

Off the mark when dropped to this trip on the AW (Chelmsford) in October showing improved form and was only just touched off last time when running off this mark. Clearly capable it will just be a question of whether he takes to Fibresand.

Handicap/fibresand debut come along together after he showed that he had ability on Tapeta last time finishing 2nd over 5f (looks to be his best trip). Most of his sire's progeny have run well here and he should be able to run a sound race.

From a yard that are frequent visitors here and have plenty of winners at the track this Catterick nursery winner needs to bounce back from a poor run at Doncaster last time. That was in a slightly better grade though and the drop back in class may h

Switched to the AW for his handicap debut after gaining his mark in three turf runs he offered little in that Chelmsford contest. Dropped 3lb for that effort he now makes his Fibresand debut looking as though he would be better suited by 6f.

Maiden after eight starts but ran well under this claimer at Chelmsford last time out; travelled well, but no match for a winner who was progressing. Now switched to Fibresand and running off the same mark; chance if he handles the surface.

Makes her stable/Fibresand debut having left Tom Dascombe where she clocked up a 0-9 record mainly over 5f. Has been beaten in two AW sellers already and more needed off this mark to make an impression in handicaps.

Has looked one for handicaps in her last two starts never really getting involved despite travelling well over 5f on her penultimate start. This will be her Fibresand/handicap debut but should take to the surface and is worth a check in the market.

Very little to show for her five starts so far and was well beaten when tried on this surface last time out; only beat two home. Drops down 2f now back to the minimum trip with cheekpieces on for the first-time; best watched.

Forecasts

Slowmo (5/2), Free Love (4/1), Sandridge Lad (9/2), Dragon Beat (13/2), Kingi Compton (7/1), Haats Off (16/1), Lincoln Spirit (16/1), Not So Shy (20/1), Robeam (25/1), Pritty Livvy (66/1)

Verdict

The lack of Fibresand form makes this a complex little puzzle to unravel with Kingi Compton perhaps having the best form but only by a sire with a relatively modest record on this surface. If the wind surgery has worked on Slowmo then he is nicely weighted on the pick of his form and Free Love has to be respected coming from a stable that knows what it takes to win here. SANDRIDGE LAD has looked the part over this trip on the AW and if he takes to this surface another nursery win at 5f could be in the offing. Dragon Beat also enters the equation along with the filly Lincoln Spirit on who a market watch is strongly advised.
  1. Sandridge Lad
  2. Free Love
  3. Lincoln Spirit
