Fair form in maiden hurdles when trained in Ireland. Absent since finishing fifth at Down Royal (2m4f, good-to-firm) in August and makes his handicap and stable debut in this event.
Winner of three of his last four starts over fences including by 10L in a match race at Wincanton (2m4f, firm) last time out. Races off a 9lb lower mark back over hurdles.
Good second over 2m5f at Kelso (good) on his penultimate start. Weakening when falling last time out however and steps up in distance.
Disappointing in three starts since finishing fourth at Stratford (good) over a year ago. Well beaten on return from a break and visor tried for the first time.
Handicap mark is falling following some moderate efforts. Well handicapped on old form but others hold stronger claims.
Fair 19L fourth at Perth (2m4f, good) in a maiden hurdle in May. Hand wind surgery since and market support would be notable on handicapd ebut.
18 race maiden wasn't beaten far when seventh at Ballinrobe (2m6f, good) in July. Debuting for a new yard in this event.
Five time winner and finished a good third over an extended 3m at Ayr (good) last month. held fourth over 2m6f here subsequently and slight step up in trip is in his favour.
14 race maiden was beaten 26L when finishing third of eight over an extended 2m7f in a novices' handicap chase at Kelso (good) a month ago. Cheekpieces tried back over hurdles.
Pulled up in his last three starts including on soft going at Carlisle in April. Making his seasonal and handicap debut.
Some fair efforts earlier this year but well beaten 12th at Kelso (2m5f, good) last time out and others make more appeal on first start since wind surgery.
13 race maiden ran well to finish 5L fourth over 2m2f at Kelso (good-to-firm) on his penultimate start. Stamina to prove over this distance.
25 race maiden was beaten just 12L in a handicap hurdle over 2m6f on good-to-firm ground here earlier this month. Interesting if repeating that effort.
Maiden after ten starts and beaten 50L over an extended 2m3f at Carlisle (good) in first time cheekpieces (replaced with blinkers here) last time.
Forecasts
Triangle Rock (4/1), Eric The Third (9/2), St Quintin (6/1), Cully Mac (13/2), Perseid (9/1), Diggin Deep (14/1), Moores Novelty (14/1), Son Of Feyan (14/1), Waltz Darling (18/1), Andhaar (18/1), Fields of Glory (20/1), Samtu (25/1), Royal Summit (50/1), Dudette (66/1)
ERIC THE THIRD is well handicapped on his recent chase form and he is taken to record a victory in this opening handicap hurdle. The selection has been running well of late and he can see off top weight and handicap debutant Triangle Rock while third place can go the way of longstanding maiden Son Of Feyan who ran well last time.
