Proving difficult to win with nowadays, but was placed over 2m at Bangor in August; returns to hurdles after a spin over fences (not overly promising) latest; wears first-time cheekpieces; stamina the unknown factor.
Has raced just once over hurdles since winning from a 3lb lower mark at Exeter (2m5f+, soft) in December 2017; ground possibly lively enough but shouldn't be dismissed; chance.
Not at all easy to catch right, so looks well worth trying in blinkers; stayed on for pressure when beaten just under 5L (third) by Georgina Joy at Hereford (3m1f+, good to firm) three weeks ago.
Veteran who notched a sixth career success when scoring gamely off a 4lb lower mark at Huntingdon (2m4f+, soft) in February; runner-up on his seasonal reappearance in the previous jumps campaign.
Cajoled throughout by Connor Brace when beaten 1¾L by Mount Vesuvius at Plumpton (2m4f+, good to firm) five weeks ago; anything but a regular winner (1-20), but a further step up in trip could well suit.
Nine-race maiden; his standout best effort came when placed at Kempton in April (2m5f, soft); far less encouraging since and unlikely to be the solution.
Fast ground winner on the Flat for Sir Michael Stoute (1m6f) in June 2016, but plenty of water has passed under the bridge since then; 0-8 over hurdles and has scarcely beaten a single rival since February 2017.
Finished behind today's rival Agincourt Reef on handicap debut at Hereford (3m1f+, good to firm) three weeks ago; not totally exposed as a 5yo but does need to leave his previous hurdles form firmly in the past.
Forecasts
Agincourt Reef (9/4), Rasasee (7/2), Market Road (6/1), Red Admirable (6/1), Rockalzaro (7/1), Damier (7/1), Classula (10/1), Aristocles (40/1)
A modest finale in which stakes should be played at a bare minimum. RASASEE is anything but a regular winner, however, he is lowly-rated (92) and open to further improvement for this step up in trip. His rider Connor Brace is likely to have to keep pushing away throughout the race (around this sharp circuit) so there's probably more value available in-running than at his actual starting price. Despite having slight reservations about the quick ground, a better priced alternative could be Market Road on his return to the smaller obstacles.
- Rasasee
- Market Road
- Agincourt Reef
