Stowaway half-sister to useful bumper performer/hurdler Carningli. Improved on second start to chase home odds-on Mullins-trained favourite at Wexford over similar trip. Player here.
Daughter of Robin Des Champs cost €24,000 as a three-year-old, promising in both bumpers and runner-up on hurdles bow at Cork (2m4f, good) last month. Should handle drop in distance.
By Ask out of a Snurge mare related to winners Floramar and Ask Susan. Hasn't really happened for her in four bumpers and interesting to see how market perceives her on hurdling bow for trainer/jockey combo.
An €18,000 three-year-old, Yeats filly. Half-sister to bumper winner/fair 2m hurdle winner The Birdie Crowe. Makes limited appeal on evidence of two maiden hurdle outings and future lies in handicaps seemingly.
Filly by Ask, yard have had a winner recently but not noted for introducing newcomers to score. Watching brief.
Filly by Jeremy out of a Presenting mare. Cost €6,000 as a three-year-old. Confidently ridden when making winning start in Ballinrobe bumper (2m, good to yielding) in September and should progress over timber.
Filly by Fame And Glory out of a Beat Hollow mare. Not really threatened in bumpers at Galway and Naas so far. Hurdles bow today and best watched unless vibes are positive.
Well-held in pair of UK bumpers for this trainer (yard has good record in that sphere) and has to improve to get involved in the finish on hurdles bow.
Jeremy filly, yards first bumper runner in 2018 and not noted for record in this sphere (1-36), ensuring others are preferred.
Forecasts
Gypsy Island (1/1), Put The Kettle On (11/4), Whatucallher (4/1), Some Day Jemima (12/1), Ask Neilus (25/1), Ask Your Mother (25/1), Dragon Houdini (28/1), Helly Hansum (33/1), Retrace (50/1)
GYPSY ISLAND was ridden with confidence for a winning start in a Ballinrobe bumper in September and should know the task ahead of her now going over timber. The in-form Mark Walsh can steer her home in front ahead of Put The Kettle On, who beat all bar the hotpot at Wexford last time and should have similar aspirations now. Whatucallher appears best of the remainder while a market check is advised on Ask Neilus, something of a letdown in bumpers but with potential for better.
- Gypsy Island
- Put The Kettle On
- Whatucallher
