7/1
Impressive winner of lone point-to-point (3m) just last month where he made all to win by 8L. Trainer not prolific in bumpers but has realistic claims here if able to handle the drop back to 2m.

Newcomer by top jumps sire Flemensfirth cost €45,000 as a yearling. Dam an unraced half-sister to smart flat and hurdles scorer United and a bumper and hurdles winner at up to 2m4f. Market check advised with jockey booking a positive sign.
Newcomer by Italian Derby winner Kallisto who is more known for flat progeny but this gelding is a half-brother to a French 2m1f hurdle winner. Trainer not in great form but can ready one first time so market should be watched.
€80,000 half-brother to useful hurdles and chase performer Khruzlinin was already struggling when stumbling badly on debut at Chepstow as he eventually tailed in last. Best watched here.

Bought for £58,000 after winning lone point-to-point back in May. Bred to want genuine staying trips so suspicion is that this may prove sharp enough although yard do well in bumpers.

20/1
Newcomer by Getaway out of an unraced sister to three winners over hurdles and fences, one of which also won a bumper. Yard not prolific in bumpers so other debutants look more likely.
Newcomer by Schiaparelli, a five-time Group One winner over 1m4f in Italy and Germany. Cost £30,000 last year as the third foal from a 2m-2m5f hurdle winner. Trainer yet to have a bumper winner this term so best watched unless market says otherwise.

Won lone point-to-point over 3m at Ballindenisk where he got the best of a three-way duel from the last. Well beaten on bumper debut at Cheltenham (10th of 13) although that looked an above average contest. More needed here.

Horse silk
11/2
Newcomer by quadruple Group One winner Shirocco, the sire of champion hurdle winner Annie Power. Half-brother to a 3m point-to-point and hurdles winner out of an unplaced but well related dam. Nice pedigree so one to consider here.
Fifth of six in lone point-to-point back in February where he was beaten some 22L. Trainer not had a bumper winner in last five years and unlikely to change that here.
9L winner at Plumpton on debut in May 2017 but disappointing next twice as she was beaten 20L into fifth next and 13L into last of nine when last seen in January. Lone winner in the field but bit to prove now.

Forecasts

Hazzaar (9/4), Jelski (5/1), Manofthemoment (11/2), Roccowithlove (11/2), De Forgotten One (7/1), Prince Llywelyn (9/1), Robyndzone (14/1), Only Money (20/1), Kalooki (28/1), Madam Anna (66/1), Watar Allstar (100/1)

Verdict

A very tricky contest with only three of these having run under rules and none of them exactly compelling. Impressive point-to-point winners MANOFTHEMOMENT and De Forgotten One look the most likely pair on the limited evidence with the former getting the nod for Tom George who does well in bumpers. The market should be informative for the complete novices but at this stage Hazzaar makes the most appeal with a couple of his siblings having won flat races.
  1. Manofthemoment
  2. De Forgotten One
  3. Hazzaar
