Disappointing on debut for this yard when well backed at Doncaster recently but was returning from a seven months absence and clearly thought capable of better. The return to AW should see him in a better light.
Two solid efforts on this surface a year ago and having probably needed his latest run after a gelding operation and a break, could be capable of better now returned to the AW.
Hasn't really taken to hurdles and was disappointing when last seen on the flat so something to prove at present.
Flat form when last seen needs improving on and didn't show a great deal over hurdles when last seen earlier in the year.
Won last December but presumably had a problem as wasn't seen again until well behind on belated comeback so plenty to prove for now.
Ran well when second to a good thing at Kempton last time. Generally consistent on the AW and not without a chance.
Landed a gamble when showing improvement to bolt up by 5L over C&D last month. 12lb higher in a better race demands more but clearly at home on this surface and sure to go well.
Disappointed since winning here three starts ago but perhaps this is her surface as she was impressive on only previous visit here and can bounce back.
Non runner
45,000 purchase from Charlie Hills. Two firm ground wins in the summer and may be helped by this drop down in trip having been seen over 1m4f recently.
Ex-Mark Johnston gelding who didn't show enough on first run for this yard to be of interest at present.
In good heart on turf at the moment and appeared to show a decent level form on the AW when trained in France to suggest he can be a contender.
Sprang a 25/1 shock in August at Pontefract. Not quite in the same form since and hopes rest on a return to the AW.
Never got into the race at Sandown when held up off a slow pace when last seen. Capable of better and interesting if market speaks in his favour.
Forecasts
Big Kitten (7/4), Rose Tinted Spirit (7/2), County Fair (7/1), Trevithick (15/2), Groveman (9/1), Perisher (10/1), Guvenor's Choice (14/1), Paddy The Chef (14/1), Amazing Michele (16/1), First Dance (20/1), Angelina D'or (33/1), Paris Protocol (40/1), Good Boy Alfie (50/1), Blacklooks (100/1)
BIG KITTEN is the interesting one back on this surface and with the drop in class as well, can leave his Doncaster run behind. Rose Tinted Spirit looked much improved last time and is the obvious threat with Trevithick completing the short list.
- Big Kitten
- Rose Tinted Spirit
- Trevithick
