Showed promise in bumpers, but unable to deliver on that over hurdles so far. Pulled up on handicap debut when last seen in May, and looks one to watch on his reappearance.
All three runs since his wind op have been over fences. Reverts to hurdles and has claims from this mark based on his Stratford chase run two starts ago, but has a bit to prove.
Was slowly going the right way over hurdles in the spring. Held in a Plumpton maiden on her return, but could come on for that and perhaps has frame claims from this initial mark.
Without a win since March 2016, but ran well at Hereford last time (2m, good to firm) and has enough solid recent form to give her a squeak here.
Was a wide-margin Catterick winner (1m7½f) on heavy ground in January, when 6lb lower. Has the ability to get involved here, although his form suggests that some ease in the ground would help his chance.
All three of his career wins have come here, two on good ground and two over slightly further. 15lb lower than the last of those, in March 2017. Enters calculations.
0-11 and has struggled in all five starts for this trainer. Can only watch.
Won minor events at Musselburgh in February and Sedgefield in April, the latter when 6lb lower. Not red hot in either code since, but has the ability to get involved in a weak race.
Has failed to show much over hurdles and can only watch at present.
Veteran who returns from another lengthy absence and, having failed to complete in five of his last six races, can only be watched.
Forecasts
Hope's Wishes (10/3), Derrynane (4/1), Filemon (5/1), Bowie (5/1), Haasab (10/1), Rockliffe (10/1), Wild Eve (10/1), Torrent Des Mottes (22/1), Venetian Proposal (50/1), Tayarat (80/1)
Very poor stuff here and it really it tough to name anything as the potential winner with any confidence. Bowie has to be considered at a track that he loves, while Hope's Wishes, Derrynane and Venetian Proposal are other possibles. However, ROCKLIFFE surely has enough ability to make an impact and, with not much to find if back to his best, he could be the one.
- Rockliffe
- Bowie
- Venetian Proposal
