Won a Listed race over hurdles in France but made no impact in a similar race on debut for Paul Nicholls in February. However, he's sure to have been put through his paces since then and is likely to be primed switching to the discipline of fences.
2-4 over hurdles but was an expensive favorite to follow last time (beaten by a lower rated Paul Nicholls-trained rival) at Fakenham. First start since a wind operation but has experience of point-to-points and has to be considered on chase bow.
The only thing that is more off-putting than his rating of just 44 is the fact that he's still a maiden after 45 previous attempts under rules. Not difficult to suggest he won't be good enough if his two rivals stride out with any purpose.
Forecasts
Pacific De Baune (1/2), Djingle (13/8), Sussex Road (50/1)
Given that Sussex Road needs to benefit from a massive amount of good fortune to give any credence to the old adage about 'backing the outsider of three,' it's best to concentrate on DJINGLE and Pacific De Baune. And as trainer Paul Nicholls has a good line of form on his main rival, the first named looks the more likely winner of this (in all but name) match bet on this occasion.
- Djingle
- Pacific De Baune
- Sussex Road
