Dual bumper winner (on good/good to soft); yet to show up positively over hurdles (0-4), but did attract some notable market support pre-race at Kelso (2m) latest.
Swopped late for a shock Uttoxeter win in June (2m4f, good) and competes off just a 1lb higher mark here.
Best run so far came in very deep ground at Newcastle in April (2m4f novice); no show on handicap/seasonal debut at Wetherby; fitted with first-time cheekpieces; trainer saddled a bumper winner at Newcastle on Friday.
Placed off this mark over 2m2f+ at Kelso in September (various hurdles omitted), but offered little promise latest and isn't easy to catch right.
Back over hurdles having shown no worthwhile form over fences; handicapper taking a slight chance dropping her so considerably in the weights assuming that wind surgery can elicit some form of improvement.
Has undergone wind surgery since finishing 19L fourth to Champ (1/14f) in a 2m4f Perth maiden (good) in May; second start in handicap company.
Unable to win under either code since hacking up in a Cartmel maiden (2m1f) in July 2016; unappealing despite a falling mark.
0-10 over hurdles; raced freely on chasing debut at Sligo (2m1f+) in September; unappealing unless a market move (unlikely) speaks volumes.
14-race maiden (0-12 over hurdles). However, has shown some signs of ability for previous handler Joseph O'Brien; handicap mark continues to fall and his trainer won this race with Wig Wam Wiggle in 2017.
Weakened quickly when well beaten on his return to hurdles over 3m at Down Royal (good) earlier this month; tongue-tie now applied seeking some positive signs.
Nine-race hurdles maiden; brother to the 2m5f-3m1f chase winner Cavers Glen; visually appeared to hate the experience of chasing at Carlisle last week, so this looks to be a sensible approach for the time being; very unlikely.
Stablemate of Brackenmoss Rory; wore a tongue-tie (now discarded) on recent handicap debut at Musselburgh (2m6f); form shown essentially very modest so far.
Jumped poorly (again) over fences at Kelso 11-days ago, and looks to have gone the wrong way since finishing third at Carlisle (2m1f) in March; handicap mark easing.
20-race maiden (0-13 over hurdles); plugged on to finish a well beaten (19L) fourth to Little Pippin over 2m here earlier in the month.
Well out of his depth on the Flat in recent months; 0-26 over hurdles; 5lb lower than when finishing just over 6L third to Russian Royale over 2m here (good) in June.
Eight-race maiden who has been off the track since April; a massive shock if she proves competitive from the foot of the weights under her inexperienced rider.
Forecasts
Mac Cennetig (9/4), Emilyogue (5/1), Chanceanotherfive (5/1), Celtic Monarch (8/1), Miss Amelia (17/2), Love At Dawn (10/1), Snowed In (12/1), Crakehall Lad (12/1), Avondhu Pearl (12/1), Towerburn (14/1), Moores Novelty (14/1), Brackenmoss Rory (22/1), Rock N'stones (22/1), Airdrigh (25/1), Millrose Bell (25/1), Wise Coco (66/1)
A very poor race in which stakes should be kept to the minimum. Chanceanotherfive has shown precious little zest for hurdles so far, but is surely capable of better and rates as a live contender in a race this weak based upon his good-ground bumper form. Mac Cennetig is noteworthy on his Irish form for Joseph O'Brien and his trainer took this race with Wig Wam Wiggle in 2017, so any market move could be worth following, but a total shot in the dark is aimed at the Mark Walford-trained MISS AMELIA. The handicapper has probably taken a chance by easing her in the weights (after some poor efforts over fences) and improvement could be forthcoming following wind surgery.
- Miss Amelia
- Chanceanotherfive
- Mac Cennetig
