Former course winner, failed to show anything like his best form last season however and hard to recommend back from summer break.
Has a couple of wins over fences though record recently is only patchy. Ran well at Down Royal (third of six) over 2m latest, goes up significantly in trip this time and similar finishing position would be good going.
Former course winner, scored at Down Royal last month and then ran well over this C&D and competitive against since at Down Royal. Trainer in good form and no surprise to find him in the mix.
Has won from higher marks over hurdles but must improve on form of three chase starts to be have eyes on this prize.
Took his chance to win a novice contest at Thurles earlier in the week, which will have boosted confidence, but these waters are choppy in comparison but should get involved in the finish.
Recent runs have found him behind Cecil Corbett (fourth) and Neddyvaughan (fifth) and likely holding similar aspirations in this field.
Has shown some competitive form over fences with conditions in favour, suffered some interference when eventually well beaten off in Cork National (3m4f, good to yielding) latest. More needed down in trip.
Back-to-back wins last month, including clear career-best when winning handicap chase at Wexford (2m4f, good to soft) latest. Up another 9lb but is in good heart and respected.
Hasn't won since maiden hurdle at Kilbeggan in July 2016 but recent signs have been much more positive, including when third over 3m1f at same track latest. Entitled to have a say from a pound higher in the weights.
Most recent win came at Hexham in June 2017 off a mark of 130, slipping down the weights now but must overcome poor efforts at Galway and Down Royal recently and others preferred.
Was preferred in the market but could only finish distance sixth as stablemate Cecil Corbett won at Gowran Park last month, tame again since over hurdles and has to arrest that poor sequence now.
Mare has placed in four of eight starts over fences but no win, has ground to make up with Neddyvaughan on last month's third at Wexford and she may again settle for minor role at best.
Front-running tactics had yielded little joy this year prior to runner-up finish at Down Royal (3m, good to yielding) this month. Only gone up 2lb for that and fair claims down in trip if in similar mood now.
Forecasts
Conduct Yourself (4/1), Mighty Stowaway (13/2), Oathkeeper (13/2), Shanpallas (7/1), Justmemyselfandi (8/1), Neddyvaughan (10/1), Cecil Corbett (10/1), Grand Partner (11/1), King's Song (14/1), Carlitos Bay (14/1), Drumconnor Lad (16/1), Colms Dream (25/1), Heist (33/1)
The hat-trick seeking Neddyvaughan commands utmost respect and should go well once more but a 9lb hike for his most recent win may prove his undoing. There are plenty dangers. Carlitos Bay showed improve form last time over a longer trip and may go close form the front against but OATHKEEPER has been giving off better signs recently and certainly wouldn't be winning out of turn following a number of placed efforts over fences. Mighty Stowaway won earlier in the week at Thurles and is no forlorn hope back in a handicap while Cecil Corbett is another in good tune and may again outperform stablemate King's Song.
- Oathkeeper
- Neddyvaughan
- Carlitos Bay
