Three from 10 over the larger obstacles and racing 6lb higher than last winning mark. Looks a tall order but strong place claims.
Dual distance winner of a Fairyhouse novice chase 12-months ago on soft to heavy ground. Fell on most recent start at Limerick last month and much more needed here.
Solid and consistent Elusive Pimpernel gelding who can make a big impression on handicap debut with first chasing success not far away.
Two from 14 over fences but losing run now totals eight but is still racing 6lb higher than last winning mark. Appears to need some relief from the handicapper.
Solid campaigner looking to add to his three wins over the larger obstacles, though he is possibly still in the grips of the handicapper running 5lbs higher than his last winning mark.
Distance winner who disappointed as beaten favourite when pulled up in a Listowel 2m1f handicap chase on soft ground in September following a win at Killarney off a 8lb lower mark. Could find one or two better handicapped sorts lurking.
Four race maiden over fences and not seen since Pulling up in a Navan 2m4f novice chase last December. Likely to find it tough going in this contest.
Building in to a rock-solid robust handicap chaser, winning three and finishing runner-up in four starts over fences since joining current yard in September. Open to even more improvement in this contest.
Distance winner who has appeared to struggle from his revised mark since winning a Leopardstown handicap chase in December. Others make more appeal.
Lightly raced over fences, the Jeremy gelding won a Tramore novice event on New Years Day before a runner-up position on return to action last month on handicap debut at Wexford. Place claims.
Forecasts
Blast Of Koeman (11/4), Niven (5/1), Coeur Joyeux (6/1), Jaunty Thor (6/1), Peculiar Genius (13/2), Act In Time (7/1), Deans Road (10/1), All The Answers (12/1), Tisamystery (20/1), Mick The Jiver (25/1)
Since moving from the yard of Oliver Greenall in September JAUNTY THOR has gone from a 95 rated handicap chaser to a mark of 119 following his third win for Gordon Elliott at Thurles earlier in the month. The eight-year-old can continue progression here at the expense of the consistent Niven and distance winner Deans Road. Owner J P McManus runs three here and all should be monitored in the market.
- Jaunty Thor
- Niven
- Deans Road
