Improved to win a bumper at Downpatrick in September over 2m1½f on good ground. Was given an easy time of things in the lead and not so easy conceding weight.

Won in a common canter at Downpatrick in August on debut over slightly longer trip for champion trainer (having gone off second-favourite). Looks a decent prospect and the one to beat seemingly.

Steady if unspectacular progress in this sphere last season across five runs. Returns from eight-month break and needs good step forward to be in the shake-up.

Some promise on debut in heavy-ground Fairyhouse bumper when just over 9L third of five, though that was 630 days ago. Market will reveal more on belated comeback.

Just the one run, finishing close second (front two long way clear) in 2m1f good-ground Killarney bumper in August. Should get in the mix if building on that effort.

Picked up by Gigginstown for £140,000 after finishing runner-up on point-to-point debut in March. Needs a close look on rules bow with Gordon Elliott's string in fine fettle.

Verdict

Hard to get away from REBEL OG given the easy with which she cruised to a debut success at Downpatrick in August. She looks to be another talented string on the bow of the champion handler and can likely take the measure of interesting newcomer Solider At War, a €140,000 purchase by Gigginstown on the back of a runner-up finish in a point-to-point. Chead Solas lost little caste in defeat on debut at Killarney and is a potential improver while Happy Lad may not get things all his own way in front this time and must concede weight all round.
  1. Rebel Og
  2. Soldier At War
  3. Chead Solas
