Useful bumper performer took a while to get the hang of things over hurdles but won third and final start over 2m4f at Sedgefield although narrow leader departed at the last. Starts out in first-time handicap and claims if fully wound up.

Shaped like a stayer when keeping on all too late for fifth on recent reappearance at Perth (2m4f). Softer ground should help and addition of a visor may sharpen him up so has place claims here.

Dual course winner at up to 3m½f failed to score last term although he ended the campaign with a pair of thirds over 3m½f here and 2m5f at Kelso. Younger rivals more appealing with potential for improvement.

Not won in eight starts since leaving Nicky Henderson and has pulled up in last two including recent reappearance after a break at Southwell. Mark at his best would give him a chance but risky proposition now.

Former Gordon Elliott inmate ran some fair races last term in point-to-points and hunter chases without winning. Tailed off in recent reappearance at Cheltenham over fences and now tackles hurdles for first time since August 2016.

Gained first victory latest when battling on really well at Bangor over 2m½f. Only 1lb higher here and extra distance should suit for trainer with 43 per cent strike rate on these shores. Handled soft ground last year so claims crystal clear.

Best run remains his debut effort in a bumper here in 2016. Well beaten fourth first time over hurdles but managed second next albeit beaten 18L at Kelso. Winner well beaten next time so not sure that form amounts to great deal.

Twice placed in first three novice hurdles at Sedgefield but switch to handicapping saw him struggle subsequently in the summer. Handicap falling and softer ground may aid but questions to answer nevertheless.

Not seen since getting off the mark at Hexham when appreciating step up to 2m7½f back in June 2017. Obviously had issues since and likelihood is that he will need this first run back.

Maiden of 26 starts, seven for this yard (formerly trained in France). Placed a couple of times last term and going close last race before brought down. Tailed off on return at Carlisle last month but should strip fitter now so not ruled out.

Lone win came here over 2m in January 2017. Handicap in free fall since and ran a better race on reappearance when fourth at Carlisle. Handicap remains the same here so with fitness maybe boosted he has fair place claims.

Kept busy throughout spring and summer and won at Perth in September. Ran well in all four subsequent starts including second of 19 most recently at Carlisle. Softer ground here is the doubt although has won on it twice before.

11-race maiden but second in two of last three starts and went down by a nose over 2m2f in final start of last term at Kelso (heavy). Raised 3lb for that but looks an improving sort so should be winning races this term and chance here if ready.

Never better than sixth (of six) in four hurdle starts in late 2017. Returns to action needing huge improvement to get involved.

Dual hurdles winner hasn't been in great form in four starts this summer finishing 16L eighth to Green Zone at Perth when last seen. Handicap falling but good bit more needed.

Forecasts

Cold Shoulder (11/4), Ask The Tycoon (5/1), Green Zone (6/1), Just Bobby (6/1), Glingerside (8/1), Lastin' Memories (11/1), Sunny Destination (16/1), Kalaharry (20/1), Cruachan (20/1), Another Mattie (22/1), Dulce Panem (25/1), Killer Crow (28/1), Porto Du Sud (33/1), Minstrel Royal (33/1), Heather Burning (40/1)

Verdict

Gordon Elliott is a force to be reckoned with at the best of times but at these provincial courses he is even more dominant and his COLD SHOULDER, a winner last time can follow up with a step up in trip likely to suit even better. Green Zone rates the main threat and such is his recent form that he can pretty much be assured of going close. Lastin' Memories is respected even though this is his first run of the season after going down by a nose when last seen in April.
