10/1
Five-time chase winner including twice off higher marks. Positive start to this campaign when staying on second at Perth on good ground. These conditions suit better and will likely try to gallop these into submission.

Age: 9|  Weight: 11-12| J: Grant Cockburn(3)| T: N W Alexander| OR:  104| C
14/1
Impressive winner off this mark in a 2m2f novices handicap here in February 2017 but yet to build on that and only four runs last term although he was second in last of them. Not the most reliable but capable off current handicap.

John Williamsp32
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-10| J: Rachel McDonald(5)| T: A M Thomson| OR:  102| D
13/2
Three-time chase winning frontrunner made a fair start to the campaign when third of six at Hexham only beaten 3¾L. May not get things his own way upfront here but chance he strips fitter so should still go well.

Casual Cavalierp25
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-10| J: Lee Edwards| T: Henry Oliver| OR:  102| C| D
11/4
Won three times for previous connections in 2016/17 season but lost way a little later. Recent return for new yard saw him finish fourth of 11 at Ffos Las over 2m5f. Back in trip which may suit but others more compelling.

Seven Devilst15
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-4| J: D R Fox| T: Miss Lucinda V Russell| OR:  96| D
11/2
Second at Hexham two starts back and after almost uprooting the first next time at Bangor he dropped to a remote last before staying on well for third. No doubt he is capable off this mark and chances revolve around his sketchy jumping.

Las Tunas18
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-10| J: Dale Irving(3)| T: R M Smith| OR:  88| C| D
9/2
Poor strike rate overall but won here on the flat and over fences. Not disgraced in recent return to hurdling when fourth but had prior flat pipe-opener so no guarantees he can step forward from that.
7
Horse silk
Instingtive2
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-9| J: Ross Chapman(3)| T: Miss L Harrison| OR:  87| CD
3/1
Flopped latest on softer ground after a run of three placed efforts on good ground which was surprising given he's won in the past on heavy. Capable off this mark but concerns on the back of last run.

Forecasts

Casual Cavalier (11/4), Instingtive (3/1), Las Tunas (9/2), Seven Devils (11/2), John Williams (13/2), Hope For Glory (8/1), Mumgos Debut (10/1), Craiganboy (14/1)

Verdict

MUMGOS DEBUT made a pleasing reappearance and Lucinda Russell's veteran should prove even better now with the benefit of that run and softer ground is also beneficial. Stablemate Seven Devils is the most dangerous rival and there is no doubt he is capable if his jumping holds up under the pressure likely to be put on in a race likely to be run at a breakneck pace. John Williams like the selection enjoys front-running tactics so the early exchanges will be crucial with both likely sorts on form.
  1. Mumgos Debut
  2. Seven Devils
  3. John Williams
