Only one of his last 16 races over fences but ran well in it, finishing a close second. Only chase win came in June 2014 but several placed efforts since so capable of running to this handicap mark which gives him each-way claims.

Poor strike rate of two from 39 over fences but has a win to his name this year courtesy of a Tramore win in August. Not disgraced since although also unplaced in all five subsequent starts. Same mark here as latest fifth so needs a little more.

Won once over hurdles, at 100/1 but then showed little. Similar story in three chase starts this year with a remote fifth of seven the pick of the three back in May. Hard to be optimistic as he makes handicap debut.

Downpatrick chase winner in May hasn't necessarily built on that subsequently but last two races represented return to form with second over fences at Tramore and same position over hurdles. Claims very solid in weak contest now.

Won a 20-runner 3m handicap hurdle in the summer before finishing second over fences (also 3m) in most recent chase start. Three recent hurdle races less inspiring off higher mark but more than capable back over fences although trip on sharp side.

Yet to win over fences although some promise shown on occasions with a second in June at Tranoe evidence of that. Off the boil since pulling up in two of four including latest so now looks a risky proposition.

21-race maiden unshipped his rider at the start when last seen after a midfield effort at Galway the time before. Two thirds the best he's managed so far over fences but jumping remains problematic so others appeal more.

Seven-race maiden, unplaced in each. Never competitive in first three starts over fences with a distant seventh of nine, a pulled-up and a tailed-off last. Hard to find any glimpses of ability.

12-race maiden looked to be getting close last year with a C&D third one of several good efforts. Recent return from 388 day absence was less inspiring but entitled to have needed that and could be well handicapped if bouncing back to form.

21-races over fences now without success and last six of them seen him unplaced. Not getting any younger so hard to envisage him breaking his duck especially going off recent evidence.

Forecasts

Whatsinthecorner (5/2), Bellgrove (9/2), Seskin Flyer (7/1), Invincible Don (7/1), Templemichael (8/1), All The Chimneys (8/1), Shake The Bucket (10/1), Alice Johnston (10/1), Well Joey (12/1), Drummullagh Rocky (20/1), Cadawill (25/1)

Verdict

Downpatrick winner WHATSINTHECORNER can gain his second chasing success here based on two sound efforts the last twice over fences and hurdles. Youth is on Rachael Blackmore's mount's side and any improvement would see him very hard to beat. Cadawill has some of the best form on offer although it has all come over around 3m so the trip is the doubt for him. Templemichael has form off higher marks that give him a real chance if back to his best after a recent return from a long absence.
