Bought out of Paul Nicholls yard (£21,000) in May this will be his debut for a new yard. Hasn't seemed quite himself since falling at Doncaster (running well) but showed a little more when last seen and now in an easier grade; note a market move.

C&D winner who needs to put it all together over fences; suited by the tight Cartmel turns in May (won off 105). Given a break and raised 6lb for that run he ran well here last time out in an eventful race (only beaten a head); not written off.

Third here last time out (Civil Unrest 2nd) he really ought to have won on his return from a wind op but after travelling well found little at the death (not for the first time)Won this last year off a 5lb lower mark; in the mix but comes with risks.

Hurdles record was rather a mixed one last year but back over fences and down in trip saw her regain the winning thread. Pulled up kept to fences when last seen (went in snatches) but reportedly lame; best watched.

Showed improved form to get off the mark over fences at Catterick last December off a lowly mark and held his form well after that over a variety of trips. Has tended to need his return runs and still to win off a mark this high.

Has shown that he can win over fences in the past but his overall profile is rather inconsistent and patchy. Returned from a break looking very rusty and in need of both his runs and unlikely to make much of an impression here.

Verdict

Civil Unrest and Chain Of Beacons were 2nd and 3rd here last time in a race which both had a chance to win at various stages and the latter (the winner of this contest last year) once again demonstrated his ability to finish very weakly and that could be the case again here. Monsieur Co gets an easier task than he had been getting when with Paul Nicholls but he needs to convince over fences and the tough and hardy HALCYON DAYS can be relied on to give his running after his recent return to form at Carlisle with the form having been franked.
