Has shown little in two Flat handicaps since his return from a lengthy absence. Can only watch on this hurdles debut.

Dual bumper winner last season (on good to soft/soft), the second of those (under a penalty) being a smart effort. Will be very interesting over hurdles when upped in trip, but a clear round here should also make him tough to beat on debut.

Dual 1m4f Flat winner on good/good to firm. Rated 62 in that code. Trainer does well with this type and she is likely to be well prepared for this hurdles debut. Likely to need improvement if the big guns fire, but interesting nonetheless.

Dual bumper winner in 2017 and had three respectable hurdles runs last season. If her wind op helps with some improvement, she could be closely involved.

Showed ability in one of his three Flat starts for Charlie Appleby, and not devoid of promise on his hurdles debut for this stable at Bangor in August. Needs improvement on that to win this, however.

Forecasts

I'm To Blame (2/5), Theatre Legend (5/2), Heartasia (4/1), Chosen Flame (6/1), Stormy Blues (8/1), Calliope (16/1), Dark Ruler (50/1)

Verdict

One or two interesting runners in the nightcap, with I'M TO BLAME, sporting a first-time hood, looking to be the one that most catches the eye. His second bumper win marked him out as a potentially useful hurdler and he can hopefully confirm that impression on debut. Theatre Legend arrives with a bit more to prove, but also showed ability in bumpers and can't be ruled out while Heartasia looks the other potential major player, with Stormy Blues needing improvement.
  1. I'm To Blame
  2. Heartasia
  3. Theatre Legend
