In solid form on the AW at present, beaten just a neck by Never Back Down at Lingfield (7f) last week; live contender, seemingly equally effective at this track.
33% AW strike-rate (2-6), including when a 2/9f winner over C&D in March; raced keenly in rear on return from a six-month break at Kempton (7f) in October.
33% AW strike-rate (3-9); raised 4lb for his head beating of Charles Molson over C&D in September; more commonly races over 6f, but has actually won both of his last two starts at this 7f trip.
Has left Roger Charlton since finishing just under 2L fourth of ten to Indian Tygress over 6f at Kempton last month; 1lb lower, but with something to prove over 7f.
Left Charles Hills for 30,000gns in July, and took advantage of a sound piece of placing by Jamie Osborne to win narrowly on the beach at Laytown (7f) in September; excuses latest (soft ground); cheekpieces now applied.
6f Lingfield novice auction winner in January, and on the premises in a couple of similar races (Class 4) here last month, including when beaten ¾L by Equitant (over 1m); now 2lb higher.
Cost 110,000gns as a yearling, and has demonstrated his prowess on the AW previously (runner-up to Jazirat off a 4lb lower mark over C&D in March); his last five starts have come over 6f on turf; recently gelded.
Beaten just 1¾L by Glenglade over C&D in August, so has proved that he can race competitively on the AW off his current mark (81). However, could only plug on in ninth behind Boy In the Bar latest, so that tempers any enthusiasm.
Well beaten on both previous Chelmsford outings (1m), but picked up pleasingly off a solid early pace to spring an 18/1 surprise over 6f at Wolverhampton in September; much stiffer task off a 5lb higher mark.
5-22 on the AW, and finished a neck second at odds of 50/1 over C&D on his last AW start in July 2017. However, has run just once since then, when a hopelessly tailed-off last of 12 at Newmarket (7f) in May.
Left Dermot Weld for 18,000gns in July and has had wind surgery since; 0-2 on the AW for new trainer Mick Easterby; moves back up in trip to 7f and switches from Tapeta to Polytrack.
6-41 on the AW (strongest at Chelmsford), and it's entirely possible that he'll benefit for a couple of recent runs (his first outings since February); handicap mark easing, but worth keeping a close eye on his antics at the start (quirky).
