Appears to be improving with every run following his second of 13 beaten 3L at Navan last month. Well held on previous visit here, while yard are just two from 38 in the last three years here around late October/early November.

Genuine and tough sort, running well in defeat usually hitting the frame. Second of nine on AW debut a week ago in first time tongue-tie. Leading player.

Has produced a number of laboured runs to date finishing well down the pack here on the AW recently. First time blinkers need to work some magic for the colt to play a role here.

Not much to shout about in three dismal career starts to date. Hard to fancy on AW debut until he shows a hint of ability.
Plenty of improvement from first to second run at Navan last month when finishing fourth of 12. Needs to progress once again, but possible in this company.

Well behind on first couple of career starts for yard that has had a troublesome year with their juveniles, producing just two winners from 48 starts. Others preferred.

January foal by Street Sense out of a US 5f winner. Yard one from three with juveniles on AW this year. Filly that may need time.
Pushed along before halfway on debut in a 6½f maiden at Cork last month. From a yard know to improve runners from first to second start.

February foal by Sepoy. Cost 42,000 guineas as a yearling. Half-sister to Emilia James, winner over 5f at Beverley and Chelmsford for trainer Mark Johnstone. Wears a tongue-tie on debut and worth a check in the market on debut.
Daughter of No Nay Never. Cost €80,000 as a yearling. Half sister to Declaration Of War colt Full Moon, winner at the curragh in August. Yard not in the best of form recently and hard to see her making any significant progress on debut.

Gradually improving with racecourse experience and rendered a satisfactory performance with a fourth of 14 beaten a little over 4L on her latest start here in September over 6f. Market likely to be the best guide dropping in trip here.

Forecasts

Nevereversaynever (2/1), Captainofthebounty (2/1), Recovery Road (11/2), Black Martini (8/1), Compton's Finale (8/1), Betty's Heart (16/1), Loz (25/1), Wild Bob Cat (33/1), Ifyouhaveaminute (50/1), Dare To Flare (66/1), Irregardless (66/1)

Verdict

Wide open maiden that could easily see a big price victor. COMPTON'S FINALE can build on his second of nine on AW debut a week ago in first time tongue-tie following a summer of regularly hitting the frame. The Joseph O'Brien-trained pair Recovery Road and Ifyouhaveaminute deserve consideration, while Wild Bob Cat and debutante, Loz from the Edward Lynam yard are entitled to make the shortlist.
