Very moderate form in four starts over timber, two of them for this trainer, now returns from nine-month layoff for chasing bow. Has to improve significantly.
Fair chaser. Respectable fifth of 11 in novice chase at Sligo (2m5f, good) last month sporting a first-time visor (retained). Solid enough jumper, can be in the mix.
Improved effort on recent return in a maiden hurdle at Tipperary and has shaped as if he'll do better when jumping fences. One to note.
Almost a year since he was last spotted, finishing second in a handicap hurdle at Thurles over 2m4f on testing going. Makes chase bow and needs a look in the betting.
Looks to be second pick of the yards' two runners here, it has been 15 months since he was spotted finishing sixth of 12 in novice chase over this C&D (good to soft). Watching brief logical here.
Couple of wins on the Flat this year in low-grade handicaps, unable to open account however in 13 starts over hurdles and no great inkling to suggest that will change first time over fences.
No win over jumps so far, but has made the frame three times this season for current trainer over fences. Reverts back from hurdles and entitled to hold decent claims over trip that suits.
Runner-up in maiden hurdle at this track over the summer, was last of six in Navan novice chase (2m4f, good to firm) last month and comes here with questions to answer as a result.
Maiden hurdler, beaten wide margins in two chase starts at Downpatrick and Sligo so far, hard to make case for and may do better once sent handicapping.
Mare remains lightly-raced over jumps, four starts, but was well beaten on chase bow at Downpatrick this month (2m3f, soft) and likely faces another stiff ask now.
Mare with a poor record over timber, she goes chasing for the first time and has new cheekpieces fitted to boot. Others make much stronger appeal.
Fairly modest hurdler, she finished fourth of eight in a novice chase at Tramore (2m6f, good) on debut over these obstacles. Needs to work on jumping, but could improve and respected connections.
Forecasts
Peacocks Secret (9/4), Crazyheart (7/2), Cherokee Bill (9/2), Celebrity Status (8/1), Cresus De Grissay (10/1), Qui Bono (14/1), Sweetlight D'oroux (16/1), Alice Johnston (16/1), Last Garrison (25/1), Barna Venture (25/1), Unchago (33/1), Our Pocket Rocket (66/1)
PEACOCKS SECRET has some fair placed form in handicap chases over the summer and Shark Hanlon's charge can put that experience to good use here. A reproduction of his best form in this sphere could well be strong enough. Celebrity Status and the mare Sweetlight D'Oroux are likely chasing improvers while both Cherokee Bill and Crazyheart need some scrutiny stepping out in this discipline for the first time.
- Peacocks Secret
- Cherokee Bill
- Sweetlight D'Oroux
