Flattering to deceive this season, best effort came at Sligo in July when close second. Not as good over this C&D prior or in sole runs since at Tramore (2m, good) last week. Hard to trust.
Won a Bellewstown maiden hurdle in August 2016 over 2m1f on good ground. Chequered time since, failing to build on promising reappearance over fences this summer here. Well held this month over 2m4f at Gowran back over timber.
Promising 5L third in a 2m1f handicap hurdle at Killarney (good) in July but backed out things rather tamely following month at Sligo and off since.
Unplaced in four starts over timber, though recent Tramore handicap debut (2m, good) wasn't altogether devoid of promise. Could harbour place claims.
Improved this month at Tramore (2m, good) in a maiden hurdle after a layoff, going down 6L in fourth of 12. Makes handicap debut and interesting to see if more progress is forthcoming.
Now 0-18 over timber and no signs that run is going to end in four runs since joining this trainer. Off 153 days coming into this and hard to muster confidence.
Has won from higher mark at Thurles over this trip in 2016, but hardly one to wade in behind on first start for 570 days, unless the market vibes are strong.
0-7 over timber now, unseated on the Flat on debut for this trainer and twice turned over at short odds since over timber. Didn't always jump well at Downpatrick last time, but went close nonetheless.
Wide margin defeats in all three maiden hurdles so far, needs dramatic turnaround now switching to handicaps.
Yet to make the frame in seven starts over timber, though latest effort at Gowran Park was an improvement, it still leaves him with work to do.
Gowran Park maiden hurdle winner over this trip on good ground in June off a mark of 80. Mixed bag since, needs new hood to spark a bit more now.
Back from 426 days off and has run two credible races here and at Punchestown over 2m4f, drop back in trip worth a go and will be in the mix if repeating those efforts seemingly.
Long-standing maiden across both codes (27 races), there hasn't been anything in efforts over hurdles/fences since joining this trainer to suggest a breakthrough is looming.
0-6 over hurdles previously (hasn't run in this sphere since 2014). Was well held in pair of Flat runs already this month and others make stronger appeal now.
Forecasts
Eight And Bob (6/5), Wild Desire (7/1), Global Tour (8/1), Realta Rathcabhain (10/1), Josephina (10/1), Grey Atlantic Way (11/1), Walkers Point (14/1), Hitchcock (14/1), Mr Moondance (16/1), Bakers Street (20/1), Ardview Boy (25/1), Balynaclash Warior (33/1), Randall's Alannah (40/1), Fast On (66/1)
Eight And Bob has gone off short prices in all three starts since linking up with Willie Mullins and failed to deliver. He didn't jump fluently at Downpatrick last time but still finished a close second and must be on the shortlist now. He will be well found in the betting though and a chance is taken with JOSEPHINA, who showed improved form off a break at Tramore recently and could do so again now handicapping. Down in trip there could be a challenge from Realta Rathcabhain while perhaps headgear can help Wild Desire turns things around.
- Josephina
- Eight And Bob
- Realta Rathcabhain
