In command when fell at the last on hurdles bow but made amends winning all four subsequent starts including when winning on the bridle in first start over 3m latest at Perth. Tougher opposition here but looks a serious prospect.
3m point-to-point winner was spotted doing his best work late on in hurdles bow at Uttoxeter over 2m4f when fourth. This trip should prove ideal and yard won this race a year ago.

Winning point-to-pointer (3m) improved in second start over hurdles when third over 3m½f at Kempton where he finished well. More to come in all likelihood but good bit to find here overall.

Won final point-to-point (2m4f) after failing to complete in two previous races. Bought for £6,000 which suggests that form in the fields not held in the highest regard and likely to struggle here.

Second in his third and final Irish point-to-point represented a sound effort albeit he was beaten 9L by an easy winner. Joined top yard so could prove a smart recruit but set a stiff task to start here.

Eight-time winner over fences best known for his exploits over the Grand National fences where he has won two Topham chases. Not seen over hurdles since 2012 when French trained but on chase rating he has a big chance.

Forecasts

Dinons (4/6), Ultragold (4/1), De Name Evades Me (9/2), Nativegetaway (14/1), Ballyart (16/1), Back On The Lash (16/1), Mine's A Pint (33/1)

Verdict

DINONS could very easily be five out of five over hurdles and for all this is probably his toughest assignment yet under a 8lb penalty Gordon Elliott's charge is fully expected to come through it with flying colours and he could very easily prove a Graded performer. Ultragold is interesting as a very useful chaser and if he takes to hurdling he could give the selection something to think about. Ballyart for Nigel Twiston-Davies who won this race last year is the other with realistic claims.
