Had some useful sorts behind him when scoring at Huntingdon a year ago. Has lost his way more recently but a better effort on the Flat last week augurs well as does the booking of Richard Johnson.
No more than fairly weighted judged on his Southwell novice victory and beaten twice over fences since. Trainer took this two years ago.
Bumper winner and broke his maiden over hurdles at the first attempt when winning at Uttoxeter. The slow pace did not suit next time and he has been off since a poor run at Stratford. Has moved yards since and worth noting for a market move.
1m4f Flat winner who also won a Wetherby juvenile hurdle (good) for Jedd O'Keeffe last year. Disappointed on handicap hurdle debut in March and again on debut for this yard.
Took his record to 2-32 at Uttoxeter and almost threw it away with a final flight blunder. Up another 4lb and hard to promise a repeat.
Runner-up in an ordinary race at Huntingdon last time but at least he settled better. Stable on a hot streak and definitely goes on the shortlist.
Beaten wide margins in all three starts over hurdles. Should do better now handicapping but the handicapper has taken no chances with this initial mark.
Fortunate Sligo winner when taking advantage of a wayward favourite. Held at Tramore subsequently before joining the Skeltons. Stable have done well with moderate horses acquired form other yards, but a lot of improvement is factored into this mark.
Forecasts
Cock A Doodle Doo (9/4), Mick Maestro (5/2), Monday Club (5/1), New Agenda (6/1), Trigger Nichol (8/1), Working Class (14/1), Contre Tous (16/1), American Craftsman (25/1)
Cock A Doodle Doo has had wind surgery since joining her new handler and a tongue-tie is also fitted. That will raise hopes she can improve on what she has shown as she certainly needs to do so. Monday Club has a tough task off his revised mark and on quicker conditions than at Uttoxeter. New Agenda went well on the Flat last time but needs to show he retains the enthusiasm for hurdling. Working Class comes from a yard who are 4-5 in the past two weeks but MICK MAESTRO makes more appeal on his stable bow. The five-year-old looks well-weighted on the value of his Uttoxeter victory and there was probably something amiss last time.
- Mick Maestro
- Working Class
- Cock A Doodle Doo
