Finished last on debut here last year, but much improved when winning a 1m6f maiden at Catterick on recent return, getting up late to beat a disappointing favourite. Should progress again, and merits respect,
Expensive purchase by Sea The Stars. Improved for debut experience when landing a 1m4½f novice at Newcastle last time out from Marechal Ney, proving game. Unexposed, and respected with longer trip expected to suit.
Blinkered when tailed-off last of 12 in a 1m4½f maiden at Saint-Malo last year for Henri-Alex Pantall, and gelded since. Hard to be enthusiastic given that poor run and subsequent absence.
Placed on both starts in bumpers ten months apart, his better effort when second at Stratford on debut. Absent another 19 months since finishing third at Kempton, and makes Flat debut at an advanced age.
Sister to Canadian Grade 2 winner Utmost. Shaped very well when fourth of 9 in a 1m2f novice here on debut, and improved when winning a 1m4f maiden at Kempton last time with something to spare. Sure to go well again.
Best effort to date when runner-up in a 1m4f novice at Leicester last month, but couldn't build on that behind Toshima at Newcastle last time, and tried in cheekpieces now.
Better effort to date when 3 lengths fifth of 8 to Mercer's Troop in a 1m4f maiden at Kempton last time, and while she ought to do better still, she will be seen to better effect in handicaps after another run.
Forecasts
Keltie (7/4), Toshima (11/4), Forest View (7/2), Smart Champion (5/1), Victoria Drummond (14/1), Whats Not To Like (16/1), Kyoto Star (100/1)
KELTIE had something up her sleeve when winning at Kempton last time, and appeals most of a trio of last-time-out winners. Toshima is preferred to Smart Champion for the forecast spot.
