French-bred gelding who cost €100,000 as a three-year-old and hails from a winning family on the Flat and over obstacles. Clearly one to bear in mind on debut given powerful stable.
Son of Robin Des Champs bought for €45,000 at the sales in June last year. No match for an easy winner on bumper debut but has the racecourse experience some of his chief rivals lack.
€95,000 son of Robin De Champs out of the yard's Fred Winter/Imperial Cup winner Gaspara. May want it softer given that pedigree but still warrants a market check.
Mid-division on bumper debut and hood fitted for return. This looks a stronger heat so he needs to have improved in the interim.
Related to a couple of bumper winners and represents a yard with an excellent record in this type of event.
Bought for a relatively modest £10,000 after finishing third in a point-to-point Flat race. Those that finished around him have done little to advertise the form.
Green on Stratford debut but that form looks modest and significant improvement will be needed in what should prove a stronger heat.
Apple Tree mare whose dam was a maiden in bumpers/hurdles. Others in this have stronger claims on pedigree and represent yards with excellent records in this type of event.
Forecasts
Enrilo (11/4), Ferrobin (11/4), Midnight Sonata (7/2), Glen Vine (7/1), Playit Again Harry (7/1), Rapper (9/1), Raise Your Shades (25/1), To The Core (40/1)
Ferrobin is the pick of those with bumper experience but he was readily outpointed and could be vulnerable if any of the newcomers are forward enough. Glen Vine has an attractive pedigree, whilst any Warren Greatrex runner in these races has to be respected so Playit Again Harry has to be respected. ENRILO has speed in his pedigree and represents a yard in good form. He looks likely to be fit having been entered a couple of weeks ago before heavy ground prompted his withdrawal. The yard are 2-5 in bumpers this term and it would be no surprise to see that record enhanced.
- Enrilo
- Ferrobin
- Playit Again Harry
