Fair displays in two runs since a break. Should be at her peak now and her jockey is always to be kept on side in these races.
Landed a Wetherby maiden for Luca Cumani last season, but has not kicked on in handicaps since joining his current trainer. Sliding down the weights, however, and acts on soft going.
Solid effort when third of 13 at Haydock last time and has been raised 1lb. One of the more likely contenders.
Ordinary efforts on last two starts over shorter distances and arrives with something to prove. Enjoys cut in the ground, though, and handicap mark looks fair.
Struggling over hurdles recently and no surprise to see him back on the level. Probably best watched in a first-time visor.
Beaten only a head under this jockey in a C&D contest in August. Has since run well off this 2lb higher mark and is one of the more appealing sorts, especially if the ground dries out.
First run since joining this yard from Kevin Ryan's stable. Maiden after six runs and is unproven on this sort of surface.
Won this race on soft ground last year and again showed his liking for the C&D when runner-up in August. Everything in place for a bold show.
Nowhere near his best since joining this yard from David Pipe's stable. Can't be fancied until showing much more.
Has failed to hit the frame in eight starts. Hopes lie on first-time blinkers producing significant improvement.
Landed a similar event at Beverley last month. Change of jockey and 3lb higher, but arrives in good heart and is respected.
Touched off in this race last year and finds herself on a 5b lower rating. Not at her best recently, but clearly dangerous off this mark and will like underfoot conditions.
Limited promise when trained by John Gallagher, but little for current trainer and was thoroughly mulish at Haydock last time. Readily opposed.
Well below her best in two runs for this yard since returning from a long break. Down 4lb, but can only be watched.
Out of the frame in all nine of his races, latterly on debut for this trainer. Blinkered for the first time and the headgear needs to have a transforming effect.
Scored twice in Jersey last year, but two efforts for current yard suggest she will not be troubling the best of these rivals.
Forecasts
Palindrome (7/2), Seventii (4/1), Highway One (4/1), Bluff Crag (7/1), Nafaayes (7/1), Betsalottie (10/1), Party Royal (11/1), Jackblack (16/1), Tobacco Road (18/1), Star Gypsy (20/1), The Lords Walk (25/1), Cold Fusion (50/1), Almontaser (50/1), Finisher (50/1), Spring Dixie (66/1), Legendoire (66/1)
Highway One will receive skilful assistance from the saddle and is much respected despite shouldering top weight. Palindrome is another who holds sound claims, but BETSALOTTIE won this contest in similar conditions last year and he seems primed to give another bold show. He may be chased home by his main rival from a year ago, Seventil.
- Betsalottie
- Seventii
- Highway One
