Improved in cheekpieces this season and fully deserved to get his head in front when winning at Epsom (6f, good to soft) on his penultimate start. Not so good under a 3lb higher mark and stepped up to 7f last time but still may have more to offer.
Good effort to be placed at Haydock before being brushed aside in the Silver Cambridgeshire at Newmarket last time. Still on a stiff looking mark and still requires a career-best on these terms.
C&D winner from just a 2lb lower mark in August but two starts since have been below par and need to be forgiven. Possible the return to the AW can bring improvement and noteworthy that he's got some good form to his name. The betting can guide.
C&D winner from a 7lb lower mark in May (in what was a busy month for the gelding). Been off since then but has gone well fresh before now. Does look weighted to the limit now, though.
Just behind Fennaan when last seen out and has a bit to find on a literal reading of that form. Had wind surgery since he was last seen and is probably best watched this time around.
Well documented win on the beach at Laytown on debut for his current yard but not been able to reproduce since. No better than mid-division here last time and cracks in the armour starting to widen.
Well weighted to reverse the form with Desert Frost after their encounter at Chelmsford last month; goes well here and is just 3lb above his C&D win June. Worth considering.
Back on a handy mark after finding life tough after reassessment for winning at Haydock in the summer. Has placed a couple of times over 6f at this course so discounted for a place in the frame but needs to bounce back from a handful of modest runs.
Held his form well and showed no ill effects from being gelded when second here last month. This looks a bit tougher though and he faces a stiff test from 4lb above his last winning mark.
Up in class after winning over C&D earlier this month; just 2lb higher this is a tougher challenge. Also has a little bit to find with Insurgence on a literal reading of the last time they encountered each other.
Forecasts
Desert Frost (10/3), Fennaan (4/1), Hombre Casado (9/2), Keyser Soze (5/1), Insurgence (15/2), Saluti (10/1), Florencio (11/1), Jellmood (20/1), Parnassian (25/1), Spare Parts (40/1)
The could boil down to scrap between INSURGENCE and Desert Frost, with the former holding a proven liking for this course, he just preferred at the weights on this occasion. Fennaan and Hombre Casado can scrap it out as the best of the rest.
- Insurgence
- Desert Frost
- Fennaan
