Out of a half-sister to smart sprinter Stepper Point, and made a winning debut at Carlisle (6f, soft). Improved on that when good fifth in valuable sales race at Newmarket last time, and should take the beating here.
Captain Gerrard filly who was tailed off on debut at Wolverhampton last month, and is easy to omit from calculations.
Pivotal half-sister to useful sprinter Thesme and 5f/6f winner Daffy Jane out of a 5f winner. Bred to be sharp, so worth a market check on racecourse bow.
Shaped with plenty of promise when third on Pontefract starting out, and may have found heavy ground against here when failing to build on that at Ayr last time. Still retains plenty of potential, but ground a worry once more.
Has run to a similar level on both starts to date, most recently when third of 17 to Feel Glorious in a 6f maiden at Goodwood in August. That race has thrown up plenty of winners, and she should go well if coping with softer ground.
Forecasts
Welcoming (6/5), Praxidice (11/8), Last Empire (6/1), Warning Fire (16/1), Amber Lily (100/1)
The race at Goodwood in which Welcoming was third has thrown up a host of future winners, so she ought to go well, but marginal preference is for PRAXIDICE, who won on soft ground on debut, and fared best of those drawn low in a sales race won by Lorton at Newmarket last time. Warning Fire is another good prospect, but she was a little disappointing on heavy ground at Ayr recently.
- Praxidice
- Welcoming
- Warning Fire
