16/1
One of the more experienced chasers in the lineup. Looks fairly treated following his two victories in the spring. Goes well here and he has gone well when fresh.
2

Dieg Man54
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-8| J: B J Geraghty| T: N P Mulholland| OR:  133| D
10/1
Debatable whether he would have won last time if his main rival had remained upright. Now 4-6 for these connections and facing a more serious task.
3
Horse silk
Run To Milan204
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-5| J: C Gethings| T: V R A Dartnall| OR:  130| BF
6/1
Has always looked a staying chaser and embarks on his new career from a workable mark. Exciting prospect for his small yard and warrants a market check to gauge fitness.
4

Station Master183
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-5| J: David Bass| T: K Bailey & M Nicholls| OR:  130
8/1
Dual winning point-to-pointer although he did fall three times. Made a bright start to his rules career when winning three of his first four starts but somewhat disappointing when more highly tried. Stable 4-8 in past two weeks.
5

Another Stowawayt164
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-3| J: P J Brennan| T: T R George| OR:  128
16/1
Still yet to win a race but has finished second on several occasions including his chasing debut six months ago when he jumped well. Had no chance at the weights with the winner that day, but interesting here meeting rivals on equal terms.

Contented37
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-1| J: T J O'Brien| T: P Hobbs & J White| OR:  126
12/1
Recorded a quick time when opening his chasing account at Worcester. That form has not been working out and he looks vulnerable off this mark.
7
Horse silk
Just A Sting215
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-0| J: N D Fehily| T: H Fry| OR:  125| BF
9/2
Handles some cut but conditions were too soft on last couple of starts. Has undoubted potential but would make more appeal if yard had shown signs of being in better form. Stable took this last year.
8
Horse silk
Forth Bridgep38
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-0| J: J J Burke| T: C E Longsdon| OR:  125
17/2
Won both his races over hurdles when ridden positively. Has had nothing to offer on last two starts when headed so this drop in trip may be what he needs. Has fitness on his side, but vulnerable to anything with a turn of foot.
9
Horse silk
Dashing Perk222
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-12| J: H Cobden| T: Dr R D P Newland| OR:  123
3/1
Wide margin winner at Wincanton on heavy ground in January but failed to reproduce that subsequently. He can be a bit keen and that not ideal on chasing bow after a break.
10
Horse silk
Move To The Groove735
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-12| J: W T Kennedy| T: D McCain Jnr| OR:  123
100/1
3-5 over hurdles but showed little promise when sent chasing. Returns form a two year absence and plunged into a hot looking contest.
11
Horse silk
Lord Du Mesnil189
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-11| J: James Bowen| T: R Hobson| OR:  122
9/1
French import who showed some ability but failed to score in nine outings on the other side of the Channel. Makes British debut for new trainer and any market support would certainly be worth noting.

Pop Rockstart220
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-11| J: R P McLernon| T: J & A O'Neill| OR:  122WS
50/1
Couple of easy hurdle wins at Haydock and Wetherby in December on testing ground over this sort of trip prompted handicapper to take control. The way he stopped last time suggested something amiss and wind surgery would confirm that.

Forecasts

Dashing Perk (3/1), Just A Sting (9/2), Run To Milan (6/1), Station Master (8/1), Forth Bridge (17/2), Lord Du Mesnil (9/1), Dieg Man (10/1), Contented (12/1), Ballyarthur (16/1), Another Stowaway (16/1), Pop Rockstar (50/1), Move To The Groove (100/1)

Verdict

Fitness can be a big advantage at this stage of the season so Forth Bridge and Contented have to enter the reckoning even though some of their rivals may have better long term prospects. Just A Sting and Run To Milan are two such horses, whilst Ballyarthur has plenty of experience but this longer trip for a seasonal return requires him to be fully wound up. Another Stowaway jumped well on his chase debut but Dieg Man was a shade fortunate at Perth and may be falsely priced. STATION MASTER made an excellent start to his hurdling career and this embryonic chaser starts the campaign on an attractive mark and with his stable going great guns.
  1. Station Master
  2. Another Stowaway
  3. Just A Sting
