Form has tailed off somewhat of late and he is at his best with plenty of give in the ground on turf. Has won on the AW and mark is in free fall so a return to form would not be a big surprise.

Hasn't won so far this season but has run well on occasions. Best recent run off this mark over C&D and leading rider now on board. Good draw and sound claims of going well once more.

Has clealry had some issues and is lightly raced as a five-year-old. Disappointing handicap debut at Yarmough last time but that was a muddling race and good chance he'll strip fitter here. Down 1lb here and could be more to come.

Progressive earlier on in the year winning at Brighton and Newmarket. Handicapper seems to have caught up with him of late and needs to up his game to be involved here.

Really consistent filly who won well at Leicester three starts back. Solid effort at Doncaster next time before a below par run at Newmarket last time. Dropped 1lb here but wide draw is not ideal this time. Likely to give it her best.

Only had three starts so far and is slowly coming back to form. 1lb below his last winning mark now and could be ready to strike. Previous course winner and has a good draw, sound claims.

Only had two starts since returning from a summer break and has looked in need of them both, failing to beat a rival each time. Still 4lb higher than last winning mark and more needed.

Sole victory came over 6f at Lingfield back in January. Placed four times in handicap company on turf since and drop in class should suit following a heavy defeat in a Class 2 at Doncaster recently.

Front-runner who tends to save all his winning for Epsom these days. 0/17 on the AW tells its own story and opposable here.

Useful juvenile for Richard Hannon (disqualified after winning the 6f Woodcote); 7f soft ground Listed winner in France (August 2017), but well out of sorts for this trainer since returning from Meydan. Cheekpieces on first time.

Not at his best on the grass of late but tends to save the better efforts for artificial surfaces now. Only 2lb higher than his last winning mark and cheekpieces go on for the first time.

Won a Novice event here over 6f back in August. Only narrowly failed at handicap debut at Newcastle (7f, AW) last time and there should be more to come with cheekpieces added.

Forecasts

Field Gun (2/1), Gallipoli (3/1), Boy In The Bar (5/1), Dark Profit (6/1), Portledge (10/1), Khamry (12/1), Hyperfocus (14/1), Bint Dandy (14/1), Island Cloud (16/1), De Bruyne Horse (16/1), Saluti (16/1), Los Camachos (20/1), Highland Acclaim (20/1), Armed Response (25/1), Pearl Spectre (33/1), Starboy (33/1)

Verdict

Boy In The Bar bounced back to form last time and would have had strong claims but for a difficult draw. He is respected all the same with James Doyle on board. Field Gun is lightly raced and with cheekpieces added still has plenty of potential off his opening mark. We will take a chance that GALLIPOLI can return to form back over this C&D with Oisin Murphy on board. He ran a cracker here two starts back and should relish these conditions.
  1. Gallipoli
  2. Field Gun
  3. Boy In The Bar
