Boasts useful German Flat form for Christian Von Der Recke, and in frame on both completed starts over hurdles for current yard. Needs to better than form on handicap bow, but respected based on old ability.
Generally ran with credit over timber in the spring, but refused to race on penultimate outing at Perth, and that means he's hard to trust, at least until proving that was an aberration.
Won a 2m maiden hurdle at Musselburgh (good) in November and ran well enough in a couple of handicaps subsequently. No impact in two runs on the Flat in recent months, but presumably being geared towards another hurdling campaign.
Winner at Sedgefield in January, and a model of consistency in handicaps this summer, making the frame on all five starts. Vulnerable to better-treated rivals, but should give his running again.
Has shown ability in bumpers and in a couple of spins over hurdles, and unexposed as such, but needs to improve a fair bit now moving into handicaps, and others preferred.
Second to a subsequent winner at Southwell in April, but not built on that subsequently. Hinted at a revival when taking a heavy fall at Cartmel on latest start, and remains to be seen if he can build on that.
Finally off the mark at Cartmel in August at the 71st attempt, and back to that form when third of 9 to Strong Team at Hexham last time. Place claims again.
Recorded a ninth career success when winning over 2m4f at Perth last month, and unlucky not to finish closer (forced to switch very wide) when fourth at Kelso last time. Back in the groove now, and likely to go well again.
Not easy to catch right and has done most of his winning at Catterick on softer ground. Back to form when third at Kelso last time, but far from certain to repeat that effort.
Beaten just a nose on final start for Joseph O'Brien in Ireland a year ago but has run poorly for current yard, with wind surgery in the spring seeming to make no difference.
Has raced just three times over hurdles since 2015 for another yard, and has since improved on the Flat. Placed off 84 in that sphere, so current hurdle mark of 89 could well be lenient.
Has shown glimmers of ability, but out of sorts and out of the handicap here, so impossible to fancy.
Forecasts
Zabeel Star (4/1), Green Zone (9/2), Canny Style (13/2), Wazowski (8/1), Saint Freule (17/2), Xpo Universel (11/1), Shadow Sadness (11/1), Minella Fiveo (12/1), Night Manager (12/1), Snowed In (20/1), Mac Cennetig (33/1), Hot Gossip (100/1)
GREEN ZONE figures on a fair mark still, and ought to have finished closer at Kelso last time, so looks the way to go in the opener, unless there is support for the potentially well-handicapped Zabeel Star, whose Flat form makes him of serious interest. Wazowski is probably vulnerable for win purposes, but he is very consistent, and should give each-way backers a run for their money.
