Was found a weak maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter in the summer, which he duly obliged in, but two efforts since then not so good and was beaten at odds-on last time. Upped in trip, which may help, but possibly vulnerable under a penalty.

Moderate form in two Rules starts so far, although it was a better contest at Newton Abbot last time than he takes in here, but hard to fancy all the same.

Improved form when second here in January, only beaten ½l and that form just about sets the standard here, but it was on softer ground and the blinkers/tongue tie on there are missing. Clear chance on form, so big chance if handling the ground.

In good form in point-to-points in the spring (winning one) and showed some ability on hurdles debut at Newton Abbot in May, but looks one more for handicaps further down the line.

Of little account on the Flat and only hurdles start saw him finish last of ten at Sandown. No realistic chance here.

Winner at Wincanton in May (quick ground) but since then has found getting her head back in front tricky. Had her pocket picked at Newton Abbot latest (winner came late) but does need to prove she stays this longer trip. Every chance if she can.

Forecasts

Let's Sway (4/5), Nigh Or Never (11/4), Ilewin Geez (7/2), Burning Sands (50/1), Bigchextocash (50/1), Zorlu (66/1), Troed Y Melin (66/1)

Verdict

The three that will likely head the market all have a question of some sort to answer and a degree of caution is advised. In the hope the ground isn't too quick, NIGH OR NEVER just gets the vote as he has the form to win this, and should improve further this season. Let's Sway has chances if she stays the trip, but that's not a given. Ilewin Geez looks ready for this trip after getting a bit outpaced at Plumpton but his penalty means he needs to improve. Bigchextocash has some moderate looking form figures but will do better this season.
  1. Nigh Or Never
  2. Let's Sway
  3. Bigchextocash
