No win under rules since 2016, began this term with a sound run over C&D (fifth) in June but quartet of poor runs since over fences/hurdles and has to bounce back now. Others better placed at the moment.
Ran on well to finish third of 15 at the Listowel Harvest Festival over timber last month. Chase form not as strong, and was in trouble when unseating at Sligo 15 days ago in handicap chase over 3m½f.
Not always fluent but off the mark at the eighth attempt when scoring over C&D a fortnight ago, respected after that effort, especially with rider's claims a help.
Now 12-years-old but still running consistent races this season, prior to an unseat at Sligo latest. Could harbour place claims if none the worse for that mishap.
Took a long time to get his head in front over timber, doing so over 3m at Perth in July at the 17th attempt. Confidence knocked by early errors on chase bow here recently, may need some time.
Has been bereft of any hint of ability in a number of dismal displays in the point-to-point ranks and recently in a Perth novice handicap chase. Still needs to be respected on just second start for leading trainer.
A 26-race maiden in all codes, there hasn't been anything in three starts over fences lately to suggest a change in fortune is looming, including a 39L defeat over C&D a fortnight ago.
Maiden over hurdles, unable to make any inroads in two chase starts over 2m4f at Perth lately. Marginally better latest, and does at least have lower rating back in Ireland.
Made it 20 starts without a win over fences when beat 23L over this C&D a fortnight ago, peak form would entitle him to claims, but not certain to bring that to the table.
Winner here over 2m6f (good) in May 2017 when rated lowly 74, four recent runs over fences have done nothing to suggest second chase win is looming, despite rating now slipping below that benchmark.
Forecasts
Quiet Account (7/2), Doolough Lad (5/1), Open To The World (6/1), Forrardon Xmoor (6/1), Kilderry Prince (6/1), Invincible Don (8/1), Ballyfinboy (9/1), Ardview Boy (12/1), Maureen's Star (14/1), Airdrigh (14/1)
DOOLOUGH LAD wasn't foot perfect but scored over C&D a fortnight ago and is worth chancing again in the finale, with the 7lb claimed from his back ensuring he remains competitively weighted on the strength of that run. Forrardon Xmoor doesn't make much appeal on form but, now under Gordon Elliott's wing, could soon improve. The consistent Ballyfinboy should have place claims if over his Sligo mishap, while similar sentiments apply to Invincible Don if able to produce his best stuff.
- Doolough Lad
- Invincible Don
- Ballyfinboy
