Pitched into claimer now due to some uninspiring efforts over hurdles where he hasn't made the frame in six attempts including three for this yard. Not disgraced in any of three flat races and plenty of soft ground experience but 1m2f sharp enough.

Placed three times from 1m2f-1m6f for Sir Michael Stoute in 2017 but little encouragement in three starts for Mick Appleby this season. Returns after a break for another new yard and takes a big drop back in trip.

Dual 1m2f winner in 2017 seemed to lose his way afterwards. Best effort this term probably his C&D third back in May and would have a squeak at that kind of level but not recaptured it of late so leap of faith required.

Just the two starts, both in sellers at Lingfield. The latest was a promising effort for this level of combat where he kept on for second over 1m2f on AW. Cheekpieces added now and should have more to give so merits consideration.

Winner of a Ripon seller in August has made the frame in two of her three starts since with the only exception when seeming to not stay 1m6f at Redcar. Form pretty solid overall and looks a leading contender once again here.

Beaten 55L, 32L and 27L in his three starts to date for this yard. Some promise for previous trainer but that easy to forget given form since.

Won four times last season including last three at up to 1m where she showed that she relishes soft ground. Just the three runs this season but not had conditions to suit last twice so better possible now although must prove she stays 1m2f.

Lone success on AW but twice ran well of late on turf including second here over 1m3½f where she led 1f out but hung violently and was headed. 1m2f should be ideal but has under performed the last twice so must bounce back.

Beaten 21L and 35L in a pair of tailed-off efforts on the AW at Kempton. Can't find any evidence in those runs to point to her here.

7f AW winner on debut ran a couple of decent races with seconds here and at Lingfield before disappointing latest back at Lingfield when last of six in a seller (Mans Not Trot second). 11lb better off with that rival here and not out of this.

Forecasts

Clenymistra (11/4), Love And Be Loved (4/1), Settle Petal (5/1), Hawridge Glory (13/2), Roc Astrale (8/1), Take The High Road (17/2), Unveiling (9/1), Splash Around (10/1), Delirium (14/1), Mans Not Trot (20/1), Willow Grace (50/1), Upended (50/1)

Verdict

Far from a strong contest this but the best claims lie with CLENYMISTRA who has been running well of late and scored at Ripon three starts back. Mans Not Trot rates the main danger after a good run latest and having only run twice he should have more to come. Take The High Road has been disappointing over hurdles but has flat form good enough to go close here.

  2. Mans Not Trot
  3. Take The High Road
