Has a decent enough strike rate over fences and trip/ground should suit, had been a bit below par before a better effort at Stratford last time. Below his last winning mark and goes well for today's rider.

Last year's winner added another course victory when landing a desperately poor race here in August. Went up 5lb for that and he showed signs of temperament last time.

Has a 5-23 record but he was fortunate on the penultimate occasion and made hard work of beating his sole surviving rival on the latter. Has found little for pressure on last three starts and comes here after a five month absence.

Landed two races in lower grade and was travelling well before capsizing when a well-backed favourite to add a third. This not the strongest of class 3's but the yard's current low strike rate is a bigger concern.

Forecasts

Peppay Le Pugh (6/4), Darebin (11/4), Oliver's Hill (7/2), Dream Bolt (7/2)

Verdict

Oliver's Hill and Darebin do not appeal as being the most resilient although the lack of strong competition means they have to be considered. Pepay Le Pugh has effortlessly landed two races for the Skeltons this summer and looked likely to land a third last time. However the yard have just had one winner in the last two weeks and he needs to step up to overcome DREAM BOLT who is 6-21 over fences. The ten-year-old is reunited with one of the Bowen boys and that usually indicates a big run is expected. He is 5lb below his last winning mark and will be all the better for last month's comeback run.
