Narrow winner of a 5f Musselburgh novice (good to firm) on her second juvenile start for David O'Meara in August 2017; off since and has changed trainers in the interim; AW debut (half-sister to three AW winners).
Beaten just over 1L (third) by Dosc in a C&D novice stakes last month (100/1); latest start (handicap debut) safely ignored due to a slipped saddle.
Seven-race maiden who is fitted with a first-time visor; showed ability as a juvenile for Clive Cox (5f-6f), but didn't start 2018 at all well; placed on both starts at this track for David O'Meara, including as recently as on Friday evening.
Respected on his early season Thirsk form (5f-6f) for David Barron, but finished fifth (behind Gleaming Arch) over C&D last month and was sold cheaply for £3,000 thereafter.
Five-race maiden, but consistent throughout her brief racing career; beaten less than 2L by Kibaar in a Class 6 handicap over C&D last month.
Sister to 5f-6f winner Holmeswood (incl AW), and her dam was also a 5f winner (and a sister to 5f AW winner Never A Quarrel); twice withdrawn - including at this track after proving problematic at the start.
Forecasts
Go Roo (6/4), Thirlmere (2/1), Madam Devious (10/3), Gleaming Arch (11/1), Debawtry (22/1), Hop Maddocks (50/1)
A very modest looking novice stakes in which the newcomer Thirlmere would rate as a major player if consenting to load into the stalls, but surely rates as odds against to do so based upon previous evidence. Debawtry has left David O'Meara since winning at Musselburgh in August 2017, whilst both Gleaming Arch and Hop Maddocks were comprehensively out-pointed by the O'Meara-trained Dosc over C&D recently. Therefore, the most logical option with all of that in mind is GO ROO. He has made a reasonable start for his new trainer (without looking to be anything special), and the visor could help to ensure that today is finally his day.
- Go Roo
- Thirlmere
- Madam Devious
