6/5
By Dansili out of 1000 Guineas/Irish Oaks winner Blue Bunting, and a half-brother to a couple of useful winners. Showed plenty when beaten a nose on debut at Chester last month, and sets the bar pretty high here.

(5)
Horse silk
8/1
Well-bred colt who improved on debut effort when fourth of 14 to Fintas in a 7f novice at Chelmsford last time. That gives him solid place claims, and he may well improve further.
3
(1)
Horse silk
50/1
By Paco Boy out of a 1¼m winner, herslef half-sister to Hampton Court Stakes winner Collection. Yard not renowned for juvenile exploits, and this colt is probably a long-term project.
4
(9)
Horse silk
40/1
Gelded son of Dutch Art who cost 20,000 gns as a yearling. Stable's newcomers invariably in need of experience, and he makes limited appeal on paper.
5
(4)
Horse silk
33/1
Better effort to date when 3¾L fifth of 11 to Artois in a C&D novice last time. Likely to do better still, but has something to find on form, and handicaps may prove his forte after this.
6
(6)
Horse silk
20/1
By Dubawi out of an unraced half-sister to top-notch German performer Manduro, and half-brother to fairly useful 6f 2-y-o winner Romantic View. Makes appeal on pedigree, and market should guide starting out.

10/3
Half-sister Endless Time won over 1m as a 2-y-o, and went on to win the Lancashire Oaks. Shaped with lots of promise when second of 13 to Jersey Wonder in 1m novice at Salisbury last month, and one to consider with improvement expected.
8
(7)
Horse silk
5/1
Related to plenty of winners at sprint trips, and better than the result when ninth of 13 to Turjomaan in 7f novice at Ascot on his debut. Sure to improve, and being by Galileo, ought to stay 1m.
9
(8)
Horse silk
16/1
By Cape Cross out of an unraced half-sister to useful 7f/1m winner Emboss. Yard can ready a newcomer, and worth a market check for all others are more appealing on pedigree.

Forecasts

Blue Mountain (6/5), Red October (10/3), St Peters Basilica (5/1), Brian Epstein (8/1), Waterfront (16/1), Mondain (20/1), Mitigator (33/1), Irish Art (40/1), Francisco Bay (50/1)

Verdict

BLUE MOUNTAIN failed by the narrowest of margins on his Chester debut, and he will go very close with normal improvement, so gets the verdict ahead of Red October, who wasn't knocked about when a promising second at Salisbury. St Peters Basilica is related to some speedy sorts, but the son of Galileo should still stay this trip, and merits respect for his powerful yard.
  1. Blue Mountain
  2. Red October
  3. St Peters Basilica
