Made all to land his maiden in a quick time but looked short of this standard when beaten in the Futurity. Nothing was found to be amiss but the run was too bad to be true and time may prove that.
1,300,000 gns son of Galileo out of a half-sister to Oaks winner Sagamix. Full-brother to Oaks second Secret Gesture and Group Three winner Sir Isaac Newton. Bred to be better than his form indicates but so too are his stablemates.
Closely related to multiple winners Mutahaady, Mjjack and Black Isle Boy. Debut effort indicates he is aiming too high here.
Exceptionally bred colt by Galileo out of outstanding triple Group-One winning Six Perfections. Had plenty in the tank when overcoming greenness to land a Curragh maiden and he will be a strong fancy to uphold his trainer's record in this contest.
Beat an 88-rated rival over C&D and his trainer says there is better yet to come. Worthy of inclusion here.
Dead-heated with a more experienced rival on Leopardstown debut in a slow time. His trainer would have preferred to have got another race into him before this and the yard have been quieter of late.
Heavily backed before destroying the opposition at Galway 11 days ago. That form hard to evaluate given the conditions and the small field, but he has more than 8L to find with Mount Everest on Curragh running.
Forecasts
Mount Everest (11/8), Sovereign (3/1), Japan (11/2), Power Of Now (7/1), Pythion (8/1), Guaranteed (14/1), Mackqeez (50/1)
Aidan O'Brien saddle three as he seeks a ninth winner of a contest that he has landed with Capri and Saxon Warrior in the last two years. Ryan Moore opts for MOUNT EVEREST who landed the same Curragh maiden the 2000 Guineas winner took en-route this and that hint seems worth taking. Port Douglas was the apparent third string when taking this in 2015 so Japan cannot be dismissed out of hand, but the other Galileo colt, Sovereign, produced a breathtaking performance at Galway and looks a big threat. Power Of Now beat a strong rival last time and would be a lot shorter if trained at Balydoyle.
