Maiden and novice winner, the latter under a penalty. Another good effort last time, when trying to concede weight. Switches to nursery and looks worth his mark. Claims.
Dual 6f winner already this season, both on fast ground and in first-time headgear. Has twice gone close since, including from 2lb lower in a nursery at Chester (5f, soft) two starts ago. Can be forgiven latest AW blip. Claims.
Improving with each run and has been dropping in trip each time. Scored on latest run in a Sandown maiden (5f, good to soft) recently. Initial mark will require further progress, but certainly can't rule that out.
Won his first two starts in the spring on soft/heavy ground, but below that in four subsequent runs, including in a nursery from 3lb last time. On a handy mark based on his early form, but needs to get close to that to score again.
Has progressed with every run so far, scoring at Chester (5f, good to firm) in a novice event two starts ago, and being beaten just 1L back there (soft) from this mark on her nursery debut last time. Considered.
Won a Newbury novice event (6f, good to firm) in July, but held in tougher company twice, with a nursery debut defeat sandwiched in between. Not written off from this 2lb lower mark, although this is his first try over the minimum trip.
Went close on nursery debut at Wolverhampton, when 5lb lower in July, and went on to win a Southwell novice event last month. Another good effort under a penalty last time. Not ruled out now back in a nursery from this mark.
Off the mark at the seventh attempt at Musselburgh (5f, good) last time. Can be a bit in-and-out and needs another similar effort to follow up, now back in this company for only the second time.
Went close at both Thirsk and Catterick (5f, good to firm/good) on her first two starts. Well held in a Listed race when last seen in June. Has wind surgery since and the market should guide as to expectations on her return.
Forecasts
She Can Boogie (15/8), Astronaut (9/2), Blyton (5/1), Aloysius Lilius (8/1), Requited (10/1), Izzer (11/1), Concierge (12/1), Almurr (16/1), Akela Moon (18/1)
A very tricky race, with so much potential involved but it is those that remain on an upward curve that are of particular interest. SHE CAN BOOGIE comes into that category and from the same mark as a good nursery debut, she could be the one this time. Astronaut has a similar profile and if he can take another step up then he can go very close, while Concierge, Blyton, Requited and Aloysius Lilius are others of interest.
- She Can Boogie
- Astronaut
- Concierge
