Had form for Oliver Greenall before having first start for Gordon Elliott over this C&D last time out, going very close. Runs Thursday and how he goes there will depend on presence today, but clearly a major player.
Looked a different horse at Hexham last week, taking a big step up on previous form when making all and coming right away for an easy win. Penalty to carry here but that won't stop him if he's in the same form.
Hasn't shown much in three starts over hurdles so far but handicapper has had to have a guess at opening mark and on breeding, this step up in trip will suit. Yard have plenty of winners here and he's not to be underestimated.
C&D winner here at the beginning of August and only 4lb higher here, so no qualms from a handicapping point of view, but might be happier in a lower class of race than this. Not so good latest and a bit to find.
Reverts to hurdles after an early unseat last time out, three times a point-to-point winner that looks fairly enough treated on chase form but hurdles form is only moderate to date.
Shown very little in three starts (two of them point-to-points) after a long absence and makes next to no appeal, even with the visor on here.
Came good from a 5lb lower mark in May but efforts since then moderate and has only won once from 31 starts in this grade. Easy enough to look elsewhere for the winner on that.
Poor at Hexham last time (sent off favourite) but has had a wind operation and gets a tongue tie here, which would make him of interest if he can bounce back to earlier close C&D second. One of the more likely ones.
Came back off a break to spring a 50-1 surprise here in May, and only 5lb higher here (still nicely treated on old form). Has another half a mile to get here but should stay, and further improvement can't be ruled out.
Yet to score in 22 starts and has shown little, Races from out of the handicap here and is coming back off an absence, so has little to recommend his chances.

Forecasts
Cockley Beck (7/4), Jaunty Thor (2/1), Mission Trio (4/1), Chanceiton (9/1), Midnight Trouble (12/1), Rory's Valentine (18/1), Karingo (25/1), Andhaar (33/1), Maca Cailin (50/1), Son Of Feyan (100/1)
MISSION TRIO might be worth a go in a tricky finale. Presumably his disappointing run last time can be put down to physical ailments, with the recent wind operation giving a clue as to the issue. If he returns to earlier form, he can go close. Midnight Trouble is a potential improver and both Cockley Beck and Jaunty Thor bring good recent form to the table.
