Previous C&D winner who's recent form has tailed off somewhat. Should appreciate this drop in grade and could go well.
Smart handicapper on his day who took advantage of a drop to claiming company to win at Beverley two starts back. Not so good back in a handicap on bad ground last time but sets a pretty clear standard here and should be tough to beat.
Mark has been in free fall for the last twelve months and seems to be on the downgrade. Drops into a seller but still up against it.
Winner of a handicap off a mark of 78 at Doncaster (7f, good) but form has been a tad inconsistent since. Should appreciate this drop in grade and has the form to go very close if on a going day.
Absolutely loves it here and has won over this C&D five times in his career. Has been on a steady decline of late though and whilst he is likely to give his running, is most likely to find a few of these too good now.
Not having the best of years in 2018. Mark is steadily falling and possibly now on the downgrade. Tongue-tie goes on for the first time and up against it on these terms.
Only had three starts so far in 2018 and looked in need of the run on the first couple of occasions. Better effort last time at Ayr and this previous C&D winner would be a danger to all here if returning to his best.
Only managed to beat one rival in five starts so far in maiden/novice company. Has an official rating of 1 and impossible to fancy.
Tailed off on both starts so far and is quickly dropped into a seller. Would need to show much more to be involved here.
Best performance came here over C&D in a seller last November. This is a stronger race than that and set to struggle once more.
Forecasts
Withernsea (11/8), Torrid (15/8), Shamaheart (9/1), Abushamah (10/1), Kiwi Bay (14/1), King Of Naples (16/1), Dandys Denouement (25/1), Orientelle (100/1), Wicklow Warrior (100/1), No Civil Justice (150/1)
This looks a fairly obvious opportunity for WITHERNSEA who has the most ability of these and should prove pretty tough to beat. King Of Naples hasn't been with Ruth Carr long and should be capable of giving the selection plenty to think about. Torrid would also be a big danger to all if he could get back to anywhere near his best.
- Withernsea
- King of Naples
- Torrid
