1-26 career (1-10 over hurdles); beaten over 14L when finishing third to the progressive Justatenner (runs 4.50pm) over 3m here (good) last month; drop back in trip a positive.
Seven-race maiden; has threatened to change that status on a couple of occasions since joining Phil Kirby; beaten a neck by Calach (third Placedela Concorde has won since) in a 2m novice at Hexham in June; handicap debut.
3m point-to-point winner (yielding), but disappointing on these shores for his previous trainer Rebecca Curtis; finished 11L fourth to First Assignment on stable debut at Huntingdon (2m4f+, soft) in January; off since.
Decisive winner on rules debut in an Ayr bumper (2m, heavy) in November 2017, and ran well enough in a couple of starts in novice hurdles (2m-2m4f+); below par on handicap debut when last in action in February; trainer saddles three runners.
Course bumper winner on debut in June 2017, but has failed to scale the anticipated heights since (0-5 over hurdles); still early days and wind surgery could prove to be beneficial; watching brief; trainer saddles three runners.
Safely held by Mighty Thunder based on his clear best effort at Newcastle (2m, soft) in December 2017, and off the track since hitting the deck on handicap debut at Wetherby on Boxing Day; hood now applied.
Winner (2m4f) and runner-up (3m) here in the spring, so has proved that he handles this track. However, is at the veteran stage now, and the visor is applied after a very low-key C&D seasonal reappearance.
Hasn't won since his days with Noel Meade (2m1f Ballinrobe, May 2017), but has gradually slipped down the weights in England since joining Jimmy Moffat; eased in grade (19+L fourth in a Class 3 latest); slight stamina reservations.
16-race maiden; twice a runner-up at this track in the spring (2m4f-3m), but continues to inch up the weights whilst finding a few sharper; place possibilities, but nothing more unless improvement is forthcoming (unlikely).
Four-time course winner (three over C&D), and continuing to knock at the door of late seeking to end a 15-race win-less sequence; keeping on 3L second at Kelso last week (2m2f), when probably hindered by various hurdle omissions; player.
Point-to-Point winner; 0-5 over hurdles so far, and weakened over a longer trip (2m6f) on handicap debut at Cartmel last month; market vibes potentially worth noting as the tongue-tie is applied; still early days.
Stayed on well to beat Vertigo by 1¼L (from a 6lb higher mark) in this race in 2017 (heavy), but well out of sorts since then and comfortably held by both Green Zone and Urban Kode on more recent Perth form.
Perth regular (hasn't won here since May 2016); edging right back down the weights, and 2lb lower than when finishing approximately 8L fourth (Green Zone third) to stablemate Celtic Flames over C&D latest; trainer saddles three runners.
Forecasts
Natter Jack Croak (3/1), Green Zone (9/2), Miro (13/2), Equus Pandora (7/1), Mighty Thunder (8/1), Mill Forge (10/1), Dodgybingo (11/1), Macardle (14/1), Shanaway (18/1), Urban Kode (22/1), Ask The Tycoon (25/1), Cruachan (33/1), No Boundaries (66/1)
An open race in which a pair of unexposed horses are capable of showing improved form; namely Mighty Thunder (wind surgery) and Equus Pandora (tongue-tie). Plenty more is known about the joint top-weight Miro, and the frustrating maiden Shanaway, and slight stamina reservations serve to dilute any enthusiasm for the eased in grade Dodgybingo. Furthermore, Macardle isn't obviously well treated on handicap debut, and out of sorts 2017 winner Cruachan makes no appeal. Therefore, the fall back option is the four-time Perth winner GREEN ZONE. He continues to run well lately, and probably wasn't suited by hurdle omissions at Kelso last week.
- Green Zone
- Mighty Thunder
- Macardle
