Winning hurdler/chaser who has only run once in the last 10 months. Off since May and has questions to answer having been pulled up on his last three runs. Ground suits so would be interesting if the money came for him.

Was having first start since failing to complete in the Scottish National when a well held sixth of 11 at Worcester (2m7f, good to soft) last month. Capable of going well but still above his highest winning mark which makes life tough.

No match for back to form rival at Perth but followed that up with a good win at Newton Abbot last time. Up another 5lb here but idled when in front there and jockey dropped whip so could be more in the locker.

Rewarded for a strong of sound efforts when winning at Cartmel last time. Up another 6lb here but going the right way and there could well be more improvement to come. Player once more.

Can be a little in-and-out but has run well the last twice. Winning at Fffos Las before not beaten at all far in a three-runner affair at Ludlow. On the same mark here and would be involved if backing that up again for yard that won this last year.

Ran a cracker when going close at Ffos Las three starts back but has struggled since having been raised in the weights. Needs to bounce back now but this would require a career best. Positive jockey booking.

Been highly progressive this summer having won back-to-back races and just failing in hat-trick bid last time at Bangor. New mark has kicked in now and is a total of 23lbs higher than for the first win. Thriving but this is tougher.

In good form when last seen in the spring and won at Sandown off a 5lb lower mark. Has won round here and capable of going well fresh so interesting to see what the market makes of him.

A progressive individual who has won plenty of races in the last 18 months. Followed-up a July success at Worcester by going close at Stratford last time. Up another 2lb but likely to give it a bold effort from the front once again.

Took advantage of a drop in the weights to score in first-time blinkers at Market Rasen last month. Up 6lb and had a short break but has claims of going well again with Richard Johnson keeping the ride.

Forecasts

Call To Order (3/1), Ballycross (9/2), Lofgren (11/2), Pickamix (15/2), Red Giant (8/1), Marquis Of Carabas (10/1), Bestwork (10/1), Winter Lion (10/1), Laurium (12/1), The Young Master (14/1), Henri Parry Morgan (16/1), Tanit River (20/1)

Verdict

If the Young Master were to bounce back to anywhere near his old form he would take some stopping off what is now a very dangerous mark. Last time out winners Pickamix and Lofgren are both worthy of consideration, particularly the former who idled when leading last time. We weill give a chance that BALLYCROSS can now show some improved form. Having won well at Ffos Las he just got tapped for toe at Ludlow last time and this track could play to his strengths for a yard that won this race last year.
  1. Ballycross
  2. The Young Master
  3. Pickamix
