An in-form gelding that picks up a penalty for winning with ease at Pontefract last week and it certainly looks logical for him to be turned out quickly before reassessment kicks in. Could be hard to resist in his current frame of mind.
Won at Thirsk in July but has been back to his inconsistent ways since then. Does hold place claims on the form of his penultimate start but needs to banish the memory of a poor run last time.
Won in good style at Ripon last month but has struggled to follow up a couple of times since - one of which was a fair effort to finish second here over C&D. Looks to be in the grip of the handicapper just now.
Better 0n turf than the AW and revert to the surface on a feasibly very handy mark. The gelding has been placed over C&D before now and has a lot going for him in this company. Worthy of consideration.
In great heart just now and comes here on the brink of a hat-trick of course wins (one already attained over C&D). Well berthed to grab a handy position and looks like a leading contender once more. Has a 6lb higher mark to shoulder though.
An inconsistent gelding who finally ended a long losing run when he landed a small-field handicap at Pontefract on his penultimate start. Reverted to type at Beverley last time out, though. Has the ability but not one to trust implicitly.
On a workable mark but has been out of form this season and looks one to be wary of just for the time being. Could be an interesting contender for low-key events on the AW in due course over the winter.
Unexposed on turf but has handled some give underfoot in one of his previous outings. Arrives in fair form but needs to bounce back after a moderate effort from just a 1lb higher mark last time.

There was no doubting the authoritative manner in which DETACHMENT put his rivals to the sword at Pontefract last week and it's likely that the gelding is the one to beat on that evidence. The penalty makes life tougher but he did win with a bit in hand last Thursday and may still have a good bit more to offer. Planetaria has a much better record on turf than he does on the AW and is respected as a threat in this company. As is the in-form Archie Perkins, who loves this course and is sure to make a bold bit to land his three-timer on ground that ought to suit ideally.
