(11)

Cotubanama¹⁰

Age: 2| Weight: 9-9| J: Scott McCullagh⁽⁷⁾| T: M R Channon| OR: 77| D

7/1

Came from well back to score at Salisbury in similar event last time and only 2lb higher now. Strong pace will suit and young apprentice claims 7lb back.

Form: 406961

(12)

Nakakande⁹

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: D C Costello| T: J A Osborne| OR: 75

28/1

Won 5f maiden in France in April on soft ground for Stan Moore but hasn't really shone since joining current handler. handicap mark is easing though and dropped further 2lb having finished last at Bath recently over a mile.

Form: 952356

(6)

Rapture²⁵

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: Oakley Brown⁽⁷⁾| T: R A Fahey| OR: 75| BF

7/2

Shaped well first two starts but disappointed when made favourite last time at Carlisle when ground was on the slow side. Wouldn't want rain but not out of it on previous efforts.

Form: 325

(1)

Posh Perfect⁵¹

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: Sebastian Woods⁽⁵⁾| T: R A Fahey| OR: 75| D

16/1

Sprang a 16/1 surprise in Pontefract 6f novice stakes in July but ran badly when a long way back in Newmarket nursery last time out and may be best watched for the time being.

Form: 04120

(13)

Gold Arrow²¹

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: Edward Greatrex| T: A Watson| OR: 75| D

4/1

Havana Gold filly made it third time lucky when getting up to score in Brighton fillies maiden last time out. Yard going great guns with its juveniles so no surprise to see her run well on handicap debut.

Form: 241

(2)

Haats Off⁴⁶

Age: 2| Weight: 9-4| J: Nicola Currie⁽³⁾| T: B Barr| OR: 72

50/1

Connections will be doing a rain dance as easily her best effort from five starts came when narrowly beaten in heavy ground at Salisbury in April. Beaten a long way last time on handicap bow on AW.

Form: 53204

(8)

Elieden^p⁵

Age: 2| Weight: 9-3| J: David Egan| T: Miss Gay Kelleway| OR: 71| BF

20/1

Should land a race at some point, but only third when favourite for Beverley claimer last time out off same mark as today and this looks a tougher assignment.

Form: 456453

(3)

Showu⁴⁵

Age: 2| Weight: 9-3| J: M Harley| T: R Eddery| OR: 71

13/2

Improved on handicap bow at Sandown penultimate start when runner-up off mark of 71. Didn't build on that last time at Chelmsford but may be better on turf and is not without an each-way chance.

Form: 66623

(4)

Mersey¹⁰

Age: 2| Weight: 9-3| J: Rossa Ryan⁽³⁾| T: R Hannon| OR: 71

25/1

Went close on debut at Salisbury but has seemingly regressed in three starts since. Last over 7f on nursery bow at Salisbury recently following mid-term break and drop in trip looks right call, but others make more appeal.

Form: 2398

(15)

Sibirica^t1¹⁹

Age: 2| Weight: 9-1| J: S Donohoe| T: C Fellowes| OR: 69

20/1

Nicely bred Exceed And Excel filly but has shown no more than modest form in four starts to date and despite dropping 2lb is hard to enthuse over.

Form: 7855

(7)

Beryl The Petal²⁴

Age: 2| Weight: 9-1| J: J P Spencer| T: D O'Meara| OR: 69| D

8/1

Knocking on the door first four starts then won Ripon 6f fillies auction stakes last month. Dwelt and never in it on handicap bow at Hamilton last time but may do better here if able to jump off on terms.

Form: 333415

(14)

Vena d'Amore⁵³

Age: 2| Weight: 9-1| J: M Dwyer| T: D K Ivory| OR: 69

40/1

Soft ground looked the key when improved out of all recognition on third start to finish 33/1 neck runner-up in Nottingham maiden. Beaten out of sight both starts since and hopes seems to rest on a downpour arriving in time.

Form: 90200

(10)

Amelia R³³

Age: 2| Weight: 8-11| J: M Stainton| T: K R Burke| OR: 65

9/1

May have been found out by soft ground at Carlisle last time having previously shown promise when third at Ripon. Handed feasible mark for handicap debut and top yard has had a great season with its juveniles so worth a second glance.

Form: 835

(9)

Maid From The Mist²²

Age: 2| Weight: 8-5| J: Rhiain Ingram⁽⁵⁾| T: J Gallagher| OR: 59

40/1

Bits and pieces of form suggest she is no forlorn hope and has very little weight when young rader's claim is factored into the equation. One of the livelier outsiders.

Form: 85973

(5)

Wye Bother¹¹

Age: 2| Weight: 8-0| J: Raul Da Silva| T: J M Bradley| OR: 51

100/1

A little promise on debut but has run poorly in five starts since so despite low weight is hard to recommend on balance of form to date.

Form: 500089

Forecasts

Rapture (7/2), Gold Arrow (4/1), Showu (13/2), Cotubanama (7/1), Antonia Clara (7/1), Beryl The Petal (8/1), Amelia R (9/1), Posh Perfect (16/1), Elieden (20/1), Sibirica (20/1), Mersey (25/1), Nakakande (28/1), Maid From The Mist (40/1), Vena d'Amore (40/1), Haats Off (50/1), Wye Bother (100/1)

A wide open affair in which the suggestion is ANTONIA CLARA who has run with credit on all four starts to date and today may be her day. Top weight Cotubanama is not ruled out of it having won nicely last time, and Gold Arrow appeals as the sort like to take a hand in proceedings as well. Showu, Beryl the Petal and Amelia R are others who may have a say in the destiny of this nursery handicap.
